The SAIRLA program aims to promote sustainable agricultural intensification (SAI) in Sub-Saharan Africa by increasing agricultural productivity while enhancing environmental sustainability and supporting marginalized groups, particularly women and smallholders. It will operate from 2015 to 2020, focusing on six countries, and will utilize competitive research grants and learning alliances to generate knowledge and facilitate stakeholder engagement. Key research themes include social equity, risk management, and access to market information to empower those most affected by agricultural policies.
