What have we learned from our audience feedback
EVALUATION QUESTION 3
SURVEY FEEDBACK
Feedback:

What was learned:
http://www.slideshare.net/14150649/primary-audience-research-analysis
The survey feedback that we received for our planning and research stage give us a good
impression about the genre style that we where going to chose. It has also give us an
impression of consumer expectation for the genre which related to the content that was
used in the final video product and also referenced through images on our digipak and
advert. The analysis that was created from our feedback shows how we interpreted what
people said and how it benefitted our final products.
ROUGH-CUT 1 FEEDBACK
Feedback:
The peer feedback we received on our rough cut 1 throughout the production was that an
issue with the mise en scene was obvious between a few shots where the lead singer had
their hood up in some shots then it was down in others.
What was Learned:
What we learned from this feedback was the obvious mistakes that were made throughout the
production of the video. With this feedback we organized to reshoot the footage that did not
match the mise en scene and ensured from shot to shot the costume remained the same.
ROUGH-CUT 2 FEEDBACK
Feedback:
The peer feedback we received on our rough cut 2 throughout the production was that an
issue with the shots not flowing smoothly in a continuous motion which made the video seem
jumpy and look as though it skips over parts of the song. More video clips also needed to be
recorded and replaced within the edit to fill up the remaining space in the song.
What was Learned:
What we learned from this feedback was that more editing was needed between the current
footage that was in the video at that moment due to gaps and sharp cuts making the video
look jumpy. The additional footage that was needed was planned for a filming date on the
shooting schedule and was added upon filming the work a few days after receiving the
feedback. We also decided to reshoot some of the shots such as the tracking shot in the street
and the high angle shot in the bathroom to get a much more stable shot that did not look
shaky.
ROUGH-CUT 3 FEEDBACK
Feedback:
The peer feedback we received on our rough cut 3 throughout the production was that we still
had not completed all of the footage for the duration of the song. The footage needed was to
be added into all blank areas of the video and also some shots such as the tracking shot in the
graveyard needed to be re-filmed because of quality issues(shaky camera). Lighting between
different shots is a lot brighter in some shots which needs to be changed to suit the flow of the
video.
What was Learned:
What we learned from this feedback was that we needed to complete the additional footage
which was delayed due to organization of the band for live performances and also amend the
footage we had currently to match up to the song in a more appropriate way. The lighting
between different shots was also significantly different so we needed to use a match lighting
edit to make it look similar in contrast.
ROUGH-CUT 4 FEEDBACK
Feedback:
The peer feedback we received on our rough cut 4 was that although most footage was
present it needed to be edited to match up to the song more effectively. The video also still
required the live band shots to be added into the few remaining blank spaces of the product.
The live shots needed to be completed and the use of the the background that was already in
the video was to be used as a background for the live shots with use of the green screen.
What was Learned:
What we learned from this feedback was that we needed to get all live performance shots
filmed (scheduled on the filming dates calendar) and get them added into the editing making
sure to have a good quality shot that included few shadows so the keying edit would work
effectively and make the shot quality better.
FINAL PRODUCT FEEDBACK
Feedback:
The peer feedback we received on our Final Video Product was that overall the video had
good reference to genre through the matching style that was used to relate the lyrics to the
video. The props, location and acting used all linked in well to the concept of the song and
through the way they represented lyrics and in similar style to the original song it created a
narrative that followed throughout the video. Improvements could have been made to the
overall shot quality, especially the green screen shots which due to shadows resulted in the
bad effect when keying out the background. Mise en scene could have also been more
planned for the band members since they don’t suit the genre style appearance.
What was Learned:
What we learned from this feedback was that overall the shot use and editing of what we
completed was good as far as editing goes but our weakness in shot quality and thinking about
the mise en scene had a bad impact on the quality and appearance of the video.
ADVERT FEEDBACK
Feedback:
The advert that you have produced is an average quality image that is clearly identified but could
be improved in quality. The contents used such as the title, song name, social media aspects and
other information all relate to the typical style of a digital advert and work effectively but you may
benefit from a better quality image for the background.
What was Learned:
From this feedback we decided to adjust the background image for the advert to a more
appropriate portrait layout and used a high quality image to make the advert look more
professional. As a result we changed the font slightly and color scheme that was used to contrast
the background.
DIGIPAK FEEDBACK
Feedback:
The digipak produced needs to include more visual aspects, maybe use a theme or
patterned background to give the images more effect but overall it is a good high quality
digipak that seems slightly incomplete and would look better once more is added.
What was Learned:
From the digipak feedback we decided to add more color through the red and black
contrasting theme and also use the images of flames and the gravestone to symbolize the
genre style that the song aims to produce.
