Emily learned about several technologies through creating her magazine project. She used a college camera to take professional-quality photos in Birmingham City Centre. She edited the photos in Photoshop, where she was already experienced using tools like the blur tool and spot healing brush. Emily created the front cover and content page in Photoshop as well, using text and shape tools. She imported these elements into InDesign, which she had to learn as new software. InDesign allowed her to wrap text around images and ensure proper page sizes. With instruction, Emily got comfortable using InDesign's interface and functions like adding columns and enhancing images. She also used basic software like Internet Explorer for research and Word for articles.
