EVALUATION QUESTION 2
HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA
PRODUCT REPRESENT
PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS?
TARGET AUDIENCE?

• When choosing my target audience I wanted to
appeal to a large market range but specifically to
a group that perhaps are not targeted much by
  magazine products already.
• After conducting a survey on
  http://louisemedias.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/sur
  vey-results.html
• This gave me the result of a Rock Genre
  Magazine.
Gender?
• I was concerned that picking a gender group would
constrict the appeal of the magazine and target it at
a group that was largely not represented within the
industry – however I decided that focusing on a
female based rock magazine would create a unique
  approach to the growing market.
• The colour theme could be seen as more feminine
  using pale colours
• Having a feature on a male group focuses attention
on an interesting topic for the females.
Layout?
• My layout would have to appeal to
  teenage/young adult females specifically within
  genre of choice.
• The heading/subheading & information on the
magazine was visible but not as forefront as the
images, interesting text on the articles and Win!
  Section.
• The layout become interesting, unique and
  current.
Teenagers/Young adults?
• My magazine would feature the latest chart and
popular music and be up to date not just in that
industry but with items such as gossip/talk
  columns.
• Including artists in the magazine that are young
and a similar age to the audience would help
them feel comfortable reading the magazine and
keep the features current and up to date.
Overall?
• Overall I believe that my magazine actively
captures my target audience portraying them
within the magazine and representing the genre
that was given to me in the survey results. I
think that the layout primarily helped in
representing the gender and the age group I had
  chosen.
