When doing my research before making the magazine I did a
little research about the genre I was using for my magazine. I
found out that Pop music is normally targeted at the younger
audience varying from 13 to 19, this is why when it came to
adding context in to the magazine I added artists that were
well known and had a big fandom to entice my audience. I
also found out that girls are more likely to buy and listen to
pop music than boys, hence why I made my music magazine
a little girly, using colours such as pink and purple. When it
comes to class I think middle/working class are more likely to
buy it than someone who is upper class, this is because they
may be in to high culture, like classical music. Sexuality and
physical ability doesn’t really effect my magazine, because it’s
aimed at everyone from the ages 13 and above, it wouldn't
make a difference if you’re sexuality was difference or you
 weren’t physically able.
I think that my magazine would probably represent
teenagers who want to know the latest music, hear the
latest things and want to be up to top with the music
industry. The language I use in my magazine is a little
informal, this is because the magazine is aimed at 13
year olds and above, they would rather read something
they get and something that’ll interest them. When
making my double page spread, I used one page for
the image and the other for the article, as images
attract people and too much writing may put them off.
All these combine together representing the group I
target which is the only explained above.
Since it’s aimed at teenagers 13 and above I
made sure to make it look interesting to
tempt my audience in to buying it, I put in
interesting images. I think a major thing
that’ll entice my audience is the sell lines
as they consists of world wide known
artists, as well as at the bottom of my
magazine which includes two life size
posters which might gain my magazine
 some more customers.
My magazine conforms to certain teenager
 stereotypes like pop magazines being
targeted at girls more than boys as it seems
to interest them more, as pop magazines
consist of bright colours, bold images and
bold fonts, which typically attracts the female
eye more. My magazine also subverts as Pop
 magazines normally have really colourful
contents and crammed front pages, whereas
mine is more spaced out maybe attracting an
older audience as well as a younger
 audience.
