Evaluation-
Question 4&5
4)Who would be the audience for
your media product?
5)How did you attract/address
your audience?
My Target Audience
My Media product
I tried to create a form of
‘The Female Gaze’
instead of the existing
Male Gaze, as
oppositional. A photo
like this is to attract a
young female audience.
Even though I used a sans serif font for my
masthead on the front cover, throughout I
used a more elegant font for the article and
list of contents to reflect the female target
audience.
However, the magazine features more
females than males with the main article
starring a female to convey how the females
are the gender that is being addressed to, to
put across a message of women being
strong and independent.
My media product
All models featured in my magazine are within the target audience age
bracket of 16-25 years old to reflect the readership and the specific age of
readers ‘EMERGE’ is attempting to attract.
The elegant and more formal clothing the models wear reflects the middle to
upper class target audience, instead of wearing casual clothes such as denim
jeans.
