  Research technologies Technology Usefor and benefit? YouTube We used youtube to research similar OTS’s and inspiration for our OTS. Youtube is very useful as it has a large collection of videos and a very user friendly interface but is let down by the fact that anyone can upload a video meaning low quality copies are common. Wiki Wikipedia and other such information websites were used to research distribution companies and similar films and were very useful as they always had the information on them. Unfortunately they can sometimes be unreliable so multiple sites needed checking.

Putlocker - We used the website Putlocker to research films - On this website there was a wide variety of different films - This wide variety of films allowed us to research films in our chosen sub-genre. - This allowed us to gather ideas and information from the wide range of films that were available.

  Research technologies Technology Usefor and benefit? Art of the title We used art of the title to research different horror opening title sequences to use as inspiration for our film. The benefit of using Art of the title is that they have a good interface, meaning it was easy to navigate and find what we were looking for. However not all of the films we wanted to research were on Art of the title. Netflix We used Netflix when we couldn't find an opening sequence on Art of the title. The benefit of using Netflix is that they have a wide range of films and they make suggestions to similar films, meaning we could research films that we hadn't thought to search for. A disadvantage of Netflix is that you have to pay for it.

  Planning technologies Technology Usefor and benefit? iCal iCal was used for writing the dates when events would happen. It was useful as we were able to see when things were due. Photoshop This program was used to create a timeline for our film as it has a very useful editing techniques that can be applied including text boxes and straight line drawing tools.

Slide share - The website Slideshare allowed us to put our powerpoint presentations onto our blogs. - It allowed us to present our planning clearly on the blog. - It also allowed us to put our powerpoint presentations onto the actual blog. Blogger - The site blogger allowed us to present all our research and planning clearly. - We were also able to put on the various information we gathered onto the blog with ease.

  Planning technologies Technology Usefor and benefit? Powerpoint We used PowerPoint to complete planning as it enabled us to organise our planning materials. The benefit of this is that PowerPoint is easy to use and it made it easier for us to upload our planning on Slideshare. The disadvantage of using PowerPoint was that one member of our group didn't have it so therefore this created problems. Scanner We used a scanner to scan in most of our planning so that we could publish our work on the blog. We did this because we wanted our work to look neat and using a scanner enabled us to do so because scanning in work shows more detail than just taking a picture of it. A disadvantage of the scanner is it is expensive, however one member of the group owned one so the expense wasn't a problem.

  Production technologies Technology Usefor and benefit? Canon EOS 600D camera We used this camera to film all of our productions. This was useful because it has HD capabilities and we could film at any time without having to share school cameras. Photoshop It was used to create stills for our production companies. It was a useful tool as it is a professional program, so it is easy to use and reliable.

  Production technologies Technology Usefor and benefit? iPhone - With the iPhone we were able to capture photos of the production. - This allowed us to show off the location, actors and props. - It allowed us to present show off the various things we did when we were filming. - Also we could post updates to our blog whilst we filmed.

  Production technologies Technology Usefor and benefit? Final Cut Pro We used Final Cut Pro to edit our drafts and our film. The benefit of using Final Cut Pro was it allowed us to incorporate a wider range of effects. However Final Cut Pro is complicated for beginners and one of the members of our group hadn't used Final Cut Pro before so we therefore needed to teach him. Windows Movie Maker We used Windows Movie Maker to edit our preliminary as Final Cut Pro isn't available for Windows. The benefit of using Windows Movie Maker is that it is simple and easy to use, however it doesn't offer the same range of effects that Final Cut Pro does.

  Evaluation technologies Technology Usefor and benefit? emaze We used emaze to present Question 2 of our evaluation. It was good as it has lots of customizable templates to use for our presentation. Slides We used slides to present Question 4 of our evaluation. It has a large selection of tools and a well laid out interface with lots of choice.

Youtube - Youtube allowed us to annotate our video - We could clearly show what we learnt and what we felt went well through the annotations. - It also let us put annotations on the final draft, making information more clear. Screen recording - Screen recording gave us the opportunity to quickly and easily evaluate our drafts and preliminary video. It was useful because we could easily record ourselves watching our video. Through this we could evaluate our drafts quickly and easily.

  Evaluation technologies Technology Usefor and benefit? PowToon We used PowToon to answer question 3 of our evaluation. The benefit of PowToon was that it was easy to use and it wasn't complicated. However on the other hand PowToon didn't look as professional as the other technologies we used to complete our evaluation. Prezi We used Prezi to answer question 1 of our evaluation. The advantage of using Prezi was that it made the work look professional. However the disadvantage of Prezi was that it has a bad interface and therefore can be difficult to navigate around.
