Industry & MarketplaceAnalysis
One third of the world's population has no electricity. The majority
of these people live in rural, remote areas of the world's poorest
nations. Global development is a multi-billion dollar industry, with
the World Bank providing huge sums of money to fund large-scale
projects. In the past ten years, global electricity demand has grown
by 40 percent. During this time, the use of RE has expanded at ten
times the rate of fossil fuels. Experts predict that the world's
electricity demand could triple by 2020, a colossal increase that will
be fuelled by the industrialization of developing countries such as
India. As a Solar PV Manufacturer, EPC, Solar IPP and Solar Power
Generator, SEWB will leverage itself to capitalize on this emerging
and very profitable sector.
Purpose of this plan
To show Investment prospects in Solar PV Cells & Modules
Manufacturing facilities seeking US$100 million.

India’s totalinstalled capacity of Solar Plants is 2.5 GW as
of May 2014.
About 400 million people in India do not have access to
power – roughly a third of the country. The people and
businesses that do have power face acute power
shortages – about 9 % power deficit and about 10 percent
peak power shortage.
The power deficit in the southern grid in India has gone up
from 3% in 2011, to 16% in January 2013.
Solar Market Scenario – Indian &
Global: Highlights
By theend of 2010, about 35 MW was installed in India as compared
to 980 MW installed in 2012. Currently, cumulative solar installations
stand at over 2.5 GW (as of May, 2014). The Jawaharlal Nehru
National Solar Mission (JNNSM) policy, the driving force behind the
rise of India’s solar industry, has a goal to install 20 GW by 2022.
Around 1.5 GW of PV projects are currently under development in
India and over 2 GW of new capacity will be installed this year.
MNRE (Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, India) states that 27
GW of renewable energy has been installed in India. It aims to install
a further 30 GW of new capacity between 2012 and 2017.

Location: Theproposed location of the solar power plant is based at a village called Baidon (Latitude:
25.4115; Longitude 79.4323) in the Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh. The proposed site of the plant is well
connectedwith the national highway NH 76 (on part of Mahoba and Jhansi connection). The site has almost
flat terrain and is located very close to 132 kV sub-station from where power can be easily fed into the grid.
Nearest Railway Station : Mahoba Railway Station Nearest Airport : Khajuraho Nearest National Highway :

Seismic Zone Data: The project area does not have any history of severe earthquake damage. As per state
wise seismic zonation, the project site lies within Zone-II of Seismic activity zone of the country (National
Informatics Centre). The required construction including structureswill be such designed to withstand the
level of seismic activity for Zone-II. Seismic zone as per IS 1893: Zone II
Water Source: The plant requires about 6 million litres of water per year for 30MW capacity, which is mainly
for cleaning the solar PV panels. This requirement will be met from ground water. Description Wet cooling
(ML per year) Remarks General services 1 Estimated Module Washing 5 Estimated Total 6 39
Road Access: Point Road access to the site has been taken care of during marking of the land and water.
Wastewater connections and approvals will be taken from the state authority. 4.5 Power Evacuation: The
power generated through solar power plant at 380 V is stepped up through transformers to 132kV and will
be exported to the distribution companies through the 132 kV grid belonging to State Electricity Board. The
substation is located at 3km (approximately) from the proposed site. Fig 10: Evacuation Plan 30MW Solar

About Jakson
12.
The Owners(Client) of the Solar PV Cell & Module Manufacturing facilities have decided to sell,
preferably as entire package of Land, Building, Facilities & Production lines –Plant & Machinery,
however, separate interests may also be considered as special cases. The manufacturing facility is
located in a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of a metro city in south-central India, which allows zero
duty and tax benefits. This location is also proposed for the development of Information
Technology Investment purpose.
The assets include 40 Acres (161,900 sqm) of Industrial land, a factory building partially complete
with about 15,000 sqm construction, Facilities and utilities of 120 MW (2 x 60 MW) capacity partially
installed with Cell line of 60 MW capacity and Module line of 2 x 25 MW capacity. All the equipment
and machines are
safely stored in respective original packing. The overall investment was about € 55 M. in 2009.
Company’s products from the other existing production lines are duly certified by UL/TUV/IEC.
The entire package of assets is available at a discounted price.
Investment Opportunity
13.
The Key ValuePropositions and Investment Considerations are:
Lowest capital investment - The owners are offering heavy discount on the entire package, which
would eventually result in, lowered capital investment - as compared to today’s cost therefore, very
low capital to start the business with lowered Cost of Operation (COO).
State-of-the-art Technology - The technology (ECN for Cell process) is capable of supporting all
advance up-gradations. The module line is based on latest technology and support current
benchmark parameters. All the equipment was procured as a turnkey solution from European & US
origin. The facilities are also supplied and installed by a reputed Korean company on a turnkey basis.
Scalable – The production facility is capable of supporting 120 MW so additional cell line of 60 MW
can be installed with low capital investment towards production tools only. This would also take a
short period of time for tool installation. The land size of 40 Acres is capable of future expansion to
GW capacities.
Investment Opportunity
14.
Shortest timeto market - All the requisite government approvals and permissions are already
obtained. The facilities are 70-80% ready with all the equipment available on-site. Hence, to start the
commercial production it will take about 4-6 months for cells and 1-2 months for Modules.
Therefore, time to market is about 6 months with production of cells as compared to 1.5 to 2 years
for newly commencing projects.
Ideally located - Factory located in “Special Economic Zone (SEZ)” exclusively created for the
establishment of Solar, Semiconductor and related manufacturing facilities. It provides benefits of
zero import duties and taxes resulting in lowered cost of cells/modules. South India is emerging as
the hub for solar manufacturing and other related business activities. The availability of best skilled
workers, access to major destinations and year around weather makes it an ideal situation for solar
manufacturing. The location is also proposed to be part of Information Technology Investment
Region (ITIR), enabling the investors to use it for diversified purpose with substantial value
enhancements!
