There are five factors that influence fashion demand they are:
1. boredom
2. curiosity
3. reaction to convention
4. need for self - assurance
5. companionship
Boredom:
• same style for a longer period.
• same colour, lines & texture.
• Boredom leads to restlessness & desire for new style.
• It shows the need for new one which satisfies the person and different from
the old one.
Curiosity :
• Curiosity causes in changes for its own sake.
• As we are getting bore with the same things we have a desire for a change in
life style.
• So we experiment with colour, texture, combination of styles and other
details that makes different from one other .
• therefore the person experiment makes the fashion demand allied.
Reaction to convention:
• One of the most important psychological factor influencing fashion
demand is their reaction to convention .
• this involves more than boredom and curiosity.
• It is the positive rejection of old one and a search of new one.
• However acceptance within its own group or class is very important.
Need of self - assurance:
• It is a human character which influence the fashion demand, here clothing
used as a means of self expression to convey moods of feeling to others.
• Ex: select your clothing which attracts the attention from the group or to
different people from the group .
• on the bright sunny day you may express your mood by wearing bright colours.

Desire for companionship :

changes in the social pattern of the time.

• Clothing varies within a culture. Tradition of a
cultural group may influence the dress of a particular group. Some
ethnic group favoured or followed bright splashy cloors while others
preferred comfort and tradition.

their religious beliefs.

middle and low

followers of fashion and the leaders who pump the money into the

• Fashion can be vary depending upon the persons whether
they are educated or un educated.in each stage one play from schools
to schools and then to colleges and finally to further qualification
needed so a separate type of dress is shorts, pinafore and other
special dresses are also needed according to the profession or

• Leisure time:
• People get exposed to different types of people when there is a change in
residence, travel or while going for vocation or to work place or to busy place

country is mainly for women in which the role of this group of society greatly
affect the fashion business.

separate clothing for household works and for their job whereas a wise
women will select her clothing in such a way that variation can be easily
