The study evaluates the effects of Ferrara intrastromal corneal ring segments (ICRS) implantation in patients with mild to moderate keratoconus, showing significant improvements in visual acuity and corneal topometric parameters. Out of 50 patients, 74% achieved corrected distance visual acuity better than 0.18 postoperatively, with significant reductions in keratometry measures and increases in corneal asphericity. The findings support early ICRS implantation as a beneficial intervention for improving visual outcomes in keratoconus patients.
