Process
• The first stage of creating the
podcast was recording the
actual footage and audio. I did
this with a Audio technical
at2020 microphone for the
audio and a Sony a7iii. We
recorded a small portion of the
podcast in the first session, I
think it went well, we managed
to easily fill the allocated time
for the specific topic and I
believe it was an interesting
subject. The only problem that
occurred was camera
placement, at first we couldn’t
find a place to stand the camera
so that it could capture us all in
the shot, we solved this by
stacking a couple of items on
top of each other for the
camera to stand on.
Process
• On the second day of recording the podcast, we did the exact same stuff as
the first day but we moved on to talk about a different subject, the same
microphone and camera where used and everything went pretty well. We
discussed some attention grabbing things in my opinion and kept the
conversation going throughout the entire portion. In terms of problems, at
one point we started talking but didn’t realise the camera wasn’t recording,
we solved this by doing a retake and making sure the camera was recording
this time.
Process
• On the 3rd day everything went smoothly and
as planned, we recorded the third and final
portion left of the podcast and I assembled all
of the clips and audio files on to my computer
so I could start editing as soon as possible. No
identifiable problems occurred on this day of
production. The same equipment was used
also.
Process
• Today I made a start on editing the podcasts audio, I
cut out anything irrelevant, boring or that just didn’t
work well. I also edited a few things to make the
voices more clear and recognisable, I think I
definitely improved it a lot. At first I didn’t really
know what effects i should add to the audio to make
it sound better but I just searched up a tutorial to
speed things up. I used audacity for the audio
editing.
Process
• Today I finished the audio editing portion of the podcast, I just
adjusted some of the levels so that everything was the same volume
and none of the audio was clipping. After I completed the audio
editing I made a start on cutting all of the footage and assembling it in
the correct order. This the first stage of the visual editing that I need to
complete and then I plan on adding effects. Not really any major
problems apart from the length of time it took, I had to cut out a lot of
footage to meet the time requirement. Also another problem that
occurred was the premiere pro application that I was using, it started
crashing multiple times and it took me quite a while to get it to work
again, eventually I just uninstalled premiere pro and reinstalled it
which fixed the issue.
Process
• Today I completely finished my podcast, I am
pretty satisfied with the final product and think
it looks decent. The only real problem that
occurred today while I was finishing everything
was premiere pro, it started crashing and
crashed multiple times throughout the day
which wasted quite a lot of time. To solve this I
simply uninstalled the application and
reinstalled it, this fixed the problem straight
away.
