Frequency Adverbs
What are Frequency Adverbs? We use frequency adverbs to describe how often an action happens.
Always  100% Usually  90% Often  70% Sometimes  50% Almost never  15%   Hardly ever   15% Never    0%
Examples: She  usually  goes to the supermarket. We  sometimes  play soccer I  never  go jogging They  often  comes by train I  almost never  watch TV Do you  ever  play sports? I  sometimes  go swimming
POSITION: * We place the frequency adverbs  before  the main verb in  Present Simple Examples : - I  always  sleep until eleven o’clock - My sister  usually  exercise - Do you  often  get up early?
* We place the frequency adverbs  after  the  verb to be . Examples : - He is  never  late - The teacher is  usually  early - Are they  sometimes  bored during the class?
*  Other expressions of frequency How often do you go to the cinema? How often do you exercise? How often do you study English? How often do does I you he / she / it we they verb ? How often…?   T o ask about the frequency of an action. We place it at the beginning of the question.
Examples: -  Peter plays soccer  twice a week  - I eat fish  once a month - David travels to England  once a year once twice three times four times… a day week month yea r
Examples: -  Mary cooks  every day - I play tennis  every Saturday - My father watches a movie  every night every evening / morning / night… day / weekend… Saturday / Monday… week / year…

Ask questions to your partner. Use this expressions. Get up early – read a book – go shopping -  work out go to the cinema– go jogging– study English – go bicycling do aerobics– visit your friends – travel by bus – play soccer For example: How often do you dance salsa? I never dance salsa How often do you send a mail? I send a mail three times a week
