Ravi, a young boy from a large family, hides during a game of hide-and-seek on a hot day. He chooses an unusual hiding place that is dark and frightening. When he emerges victorious, ready to declare that he has been found, nobody remembers that he was still hiding or pays attention to him. Feeling disappointed and humiliated that his brothers did not notice his absence or victory, Ravi experiences the themes of alienation and insignificance.
