  A teen film(movie) is a movie directed to a group of people known as teenagers ranging from age 13 to 19. Since these movies are made for teens, teens are obviously the group that watches them.

  Classically in teenmovies where there is a teenaged girl who lives a poor life and is treated like a slave by those around her, the girl will most likely end up having a make over and meeting her prince charming which can be seen in teen movies like ‘A Cinderella Story’. Also within this story there are genres such as Comedy, Love and Romance

  In teen moviesif the main character has a brother or sister, that sibling will most definitely be their polar opposite. From 10 things I hate about you ‘Kat’ is portrayed as the typical teenager – being rebellious and an outcast, looking down on everyone else in the school. Her sister ‘Bianca’ is the stereotypical pretty popular blonde that has a deep love for her skechers. Also following convention this movie is shot with locations such as a high school, party and prom – places commonly associated with teenagers. In this teen movie there are a mixture of sub-genres such as Drama, Comedy and Romance.

  Within this filmthere are a bunch of popular rules that teen movies follow such as being set in high schools, parties and of course the bedroom of a teen. Also the classic characters of popular, pretty and rich blonde girl; ‘ghetto’ black boys, stoners and skaters are all present in this film. Following the cliché of teen movies there are also other genres present in this movie such as Comedy, Romance and even Coming-Of-Age.
