Objectives:
- Identify story elements
- Talk about kindness
- Think about and describe
ways of caring for others
Brainstorm
One of the best gifts you can give people is to let them know that you
care about them. When you help people, show concern for them, or
say something nice, you show them that you care. When you listen to
them, share something, or laugh about something together, you
show them that you care. And when you show people that you really
care, you can make their day!

  • #7Ā Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-ChurchillĀ (30 November 1874 – 24 January 1965) was a British politician, army officer, and writer. He was theĀ Prime Minister of the United KingdomĀ from 1940 to 1945, when he led Britain to victory in theĀ Second World War, and again from 1951 to 1955. Churchill represented five constituencies during his career as aĀ Member of ParliamentĀ (MP). Ideologically anĀ economic liberalĀ andĀ imperialist, for most of his career he was a member of theĀ Conservative Party, which he led from 1940 to 1955, but from 1904 to 1924 was a member of theĀ Liberal Party. Of mixedĀ EnglishĀ andĀ AmericanĀ parentage, Churchill was born inĀ OxfordshireĀ toĀ a wealthy, aristocratic family.Ā  Alexander Fleming, M.D. (1824 – 21 August 1875), was born in 1824 at Edinburgh, where he studied medicine and graduated M.D. in 1844. His chief work was his college essay on the 'Physiological and Medicinal Properties of Aconitum Napellus,' Lond. 1845, which led to the introduction of a tincture of aconite of uniform strength known as Fleming's tincture. Having spent some years at Cork as professor of materia medica in the Queen's College, he went in 1858 to Birmingham, where he held the honorary office of physician to the Queen's Hospital until his retirement through ill-health in 1873. He died atĀ Brixton,Ā London, on 21 August 1875. Besides the works above mentioned, he published two introductory addresses and two papers in the 'Dublin Quarterly Journal of Medical Science ' (on measles of the pig, and on the classification of medicines).
