- 3. SUMMARY • Gulliver learns that Flimnap, Skyresh Bolgolam, and others have approved articles of treason against him. His crimes include putting out the fire in the palace, refusing to devastate Blefuscu, and preparing to take advantage of the Emperor's permission to visit Blefuscu. The Emperor accepts the charges, but he refuses to kill Gulliver. Instead, he "mercifully" decides to blind Gulliver and save money on his upkeep by starving him slowly. On learning this from Blefuscu’s emperor, Gulliver escapes to Blefuscu.
- 4. HIGHLIGHTS • Gulliver had been a stranger to courts as he was unqualified because of his condition. • One mid-night, Emperor of Blefuscu privately came to Gulliver’s house. It was so private that the chairmen were dismissed, a servant was ordered to tell that Gulliver was indisposed and went to sleep, Gulliver was told to fasten the door too. • After regular salutations, he directly told the reason of his arrival • He told that several meetings had been called privately on Gulliver’s account. They were against Gulliver and wanted him to be charged in crime (impeached) for treason, and other capital crimes. • The preface made Gulliver angry and impatient • The emperor bought a copy of articles keeping in mind the favours he had done to him.

ARTICLES.. • There were 4 articles having a head tittle “articles of impeachment against Quinbus flestrin” • ARTICLE I • It was enacted that whoever made water around the precincts of royal palace would be liable to the pains of high treason for him as he extinguished the fire in kingdom with his urine which was against the law. It was thought that he did it cruelly, with hatred.
- 6. ARTICLE II • As Gulliver brought the fleet of Blefuscu into royal port, and being commanded to seize their ships and destroy Big-Endian heresy and reduce that to a province, he was like a fake traitor against his majesty and excused from the said service.
- 7. ARTICLE III • When ambassadors arrived from court of Blefuscu to sue peace, he aided, abetted , comforted and diverted them, although they were his servants. He proved to be a false traitor.
- 8. ARTICLE IV • He is preparing to make a voyage to Blefuscu for which he received oral license from majesty. This is to comfort the emperor in open war .
- 9. The emperor keeping in mind his services, is thought of reducing his punishment. His enemies, the treasurer and admiral wanted to set fire to his house at night. Upon this, Redresal, justified gulliver’s good thoughts, he told there was still a room for mercy. He wanted the majesty to consider his servicesto his owm mercifulness. He pleased to spare Gulliver’s life and only put out both his eyes. Bolgolam disapproved this and got up and raised his voice. He reminded the fire incident in kingdom extinguished by his urine and all his other crimes too.
- 10. – The majesty was perplexed and wanted Redresal to be heard again. At last it concluded – Thus the whole secretary was compromised by friendship. – The project of starving Gulliver was kept secretly but taking his eyes was entered on books. – Saying so, Emperor left secretly – Gulliver thought about the matter. He was perplexed. He thought of attacking the people but rejected the idea as per his oath. – Alas! Gulliver fixed a resolution for which owes in preserving of his eyes and his liberty. – He hurried to Blefuscu having sent the letter to his friend. – He crossed the island. The people greeted them. 2 guides directed him to the city. – Emperor greeted him and took him to his kingdom.
