“Although Xs exist in the world of Harry Potter, as shown by the literature that
Harry and his friends study in Defence Against the Dark Arts, they play no
meaningful part in the story. The X myth is so rich, and has been exploited so
many times in literature and on film, that I felt there was little I could add to

While X and Y both had the ability to transform at will, X could only
transform into one particular type of animal, which was predetermined by
their inner traits. By contrast, a Y could take a wide variety of forms,
changing gender and age, potentially looking like anyone at all, or even just
changing a part of their appearance. Being an X, though difficult, can be
learnt and we see a number of X thoughout the series. But Y are extremely
rare. Most of the Y are born that way. We are introduced to only one Y
throughout the main series and read about another towards the end.

For much of the first six books, it has been clearly stated to
belong to X. However in the Deathly Hallows, _____ told Harry,
Ron and Hermione that it belonged to Ragnuk the First and was
taken(read stolen) by X. According to Hermione, this claim can
never be proven because wizarding history is highly biased in
regards to the atrocities committed by ‘wand carriers’ on other
races. However in the Battle of Hogwarts, the manner in which
Voldemort’s last Horcrux was destroyed, it was proven that X did
not steal it from anyone and the thing was rightfully his own.

It was rumored that JK Rowling played the character X in the movie “Harry
Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”. However it was quickly dismissed by the
writer. This rumor stems from the fact that the actress cast for the role X has
significant similarities to JK Rowling, does not appear to be included in the
credits portion at the end to the movie, nor does she appear in IMDb cast list,
even though X was a “Speaking role” that had a line of Dialogue being spoken

According to a German Dubbing site, X was played by Nina Young, who also
played Helena Ravenclaw in the same movie.

The Wizarding World has certain aspects that entertain us as children but
what many would often find disturbing as an adult. However, X is one of
those “creepy” things that is an integral part of the books and is largely
considered harmless. X forms a major part of the 4th book - The Goblet
of Fire, and forms the basis of a major subplot in the 7th book-The
Deathly Hallows when Harry tries to retrieve X from the Ministry of Magic.
Many fans however have voted the presence of X in a school or for that

about this problem, however, was Parvati Patil, who remarked during the
Yule Ball that X should never have been allowed.
