social networking links, the web
address and barcode, date and issue

Continued with my magazine front cover.
Visited an Academy class in London and
learnt faster ways to use Photoshop. Friday,
updated my front cover by adding a
competition, and cover lines to it.
Monday 7th October Deadline for preliminary front cover was on
Wednesday 9th October. I managed to
complete my front cover by this lesson, and
included all that I had to, to achieve the
highest possible grade. I found using the
‘quick selection tool’ quite hard, but learnt to
do it well by then.
Monday 14th October On Monday’s lessons, we learnt about
the exam.
On Wednesday, I drew my hand drawn
draft for the contents page of my
magazine and started creating my
contents page on Photoshop.
On Fridays double lesson, I carried on
with creating the contents page for my

complete all six tasks in the lesson;
hence why I will be coming back in my

the deadline which is next Friday.
Monday 21st October Today, I made some more corrections to the
front cover of my magazine. Although, I didn’t

Therefore, I will be coming back in my frees

Half Term
Monday 4th November This week, we moved on to our Music
Magazine. In the double lesson on

magazine and finally came up with the name
‘Melody’. I used a font style from dafont.com
and now have a name with a font for my
magazine front cover.
Monday 11th Started the front cover of my music magazine.
November I managed to complete the tasks set, which
were the barcode, social networking sites,
price, date and issue number and a puff. On
Friday, the 15th, I continued creating the front
cover of my music magazine. I managed to
add some effects to my puff and my price and
created the web address, strapline and
masthead as well.
Monday 18th
November
Added smaller images to the front cover and
wrote out a few cover lines. Changed some
conventions of my magazine as well. As the
deadline is on Friday, and because I still have
a lot to add to my front cover, I will be coming
back in my free lessons. Finished my
magazine on Friday and met my deadlines as
I stayed after school to complete it.
Monday 25th
November
Started on the contents page of my
magazine.
I drew out my hand drawn draft with
some inspiration from my magazine of
inspiration.
Then, I opened Photoshop and started
creating my contents page and
managed to add the web address, page
number to it. On the 29th, I carried on
with my contents page. I managed to
create section headings within the
contents page.
I added the magazine logo onto each
section as well to promote the
magazine brand.
Monday 2nd
December
This week, I carried on producing my
contents page. I wrote out my editors letter
on word to make sure I spelt everything
correctly as Photoshop doesn’t have
spellcheck. I then used the pen tool to insert
the editor’s letter onto the contents page and
added an editors photo and editors details
along with my signature.
Monday 9th December On Wednesday, I added the cover line stories
in the allocated columns. Below each cover
line I also add sub-lines to give the reader a
little more information about the article or
story.
Monday 16th
December
On Friday the 20th, I inserted more images
that I took on Wednesday the 18th so that the
audience gets variety and to keep the
audience interested in the magazine as well. I
also took a screen grab of my front cover and
inserted it to the left of my contents page and
added arrows to show what article is on what
page so that its easier for the reader to
access.
Christmas Holidays
Monday 6th January I completed the corrections to my
contents page and started with the
double spread page of my magazine.
I also drew out my hand drawn draft
for it to help me in creating the page.
Monday 13th January I continued creating my double spread page. I
took the pictures for it, and cropped them
and edited them to insert into my double
page. I also added effects to it and created
columns for the page.
Monday 20th January I added in colour to my hand drawn draft to
help me know what colours to put on my
double page spread. I also carried on with my
double page spread by adding more images
and the interview for my story.
Monday 10th
February
I completed my double page spread and
began adding resources to my blog page. This
included the use of slide share as well.
Monday 24th
February
This week I focused on my blog page. I added
my magazine pages to it and updated my
logbook and inserted it on there through
Slideshare. I also started completing my
evaluation by analysing my magazine pages.
Monday 3rd March I updated my blog page by analysing
another magazine of my chosen genre
which in this case was ‘We love Pop’ to
show variety within the genre.
I also analysed my own magazine on
the evaluation PowerPoint and
evaluated the photography planning of
all my magazine pages.
Monday 10th March I completed 2 out of 7 questions for my
evaluation. I made sure the answers were in
detail and created a feedback survey for my
magazine using survey monkey.
Monday 17th March This week I completed 3 more of the
questions for my evaluation and took
screenshots of the conversations I had with
my models for evidence and inserted it into
the evaluation as well. I also sent out my
survey monkey feedback and waited for
responses.
Monday 24th March This week the final copy of my evaluation
through Prezi was due. However, I still had 2
more questions to complete and the results
gathered from my survey monkey
questionnaire weren’t accurate. Therefore, I
decided to create a video of the audience
feedback. In order to do this and complete the
remaining questions, I am going to have to
stay after school to get it done to the highest
standard possible.
Monday 31st March Finished all my coursework, including adding
the final bits to the blog page, the planning
and research and evaluation and all the
corrections of my magazine in order to
achieve the highest grade possible.
