Editor's Notes

  • #18 Domestic violence is just one of the many intentional injuries happening around us. You need to be conscious and vigilant about such conditions. As a student, you can do so much to avoid such injury from happening especially to your loved ones. It is your responsibility to report and seek help from proper authorities if you observe something you think may lead to domestic violence. Take part in spreading love and care within and outside your family.
  • #19 It also includes self-inflicted and interpersonal acts of violence intended to cause harm.
  • #24 Some of them blame themselves as they feel like the violence is their fault. Nevertheless, children in a violent home experience different problem as they grow up and these problems do not go away on their own. They can be there even as the child gets older.
  • #26 Explain the excerpt that you have read? Do you think the Philippine government has done its duty of protecting the welfare of children against violent actions and behaviors resulting to intentional injuries? Cite example to support your answer. If you were given a chance to talk to the government officials keep you safe from intentional injuries, what would you say to them?
