The Effect Of Solar Flares On Our Future Essay
Possibly the most dramatic event that occurs within our solar system is the solar flare. Scientists have
spent much time studying this solar phenomenon attempting to learn how to predict them. This in turn
has caused a significant increase in understanding the anatomy of solar flares to include the phases of
flares and what they emit. Bringing things closer to Earth, the emissions of solar flares can have a
significant impact in today s technological world. By far, the largest impact of solar flares to our
technology is radio blackouts. The emissions of solar flares cause scintillation to occur in the
ionosphere effectively blocking long distance transmissions. Solar flares are excessively bright and
powerful and so deserve our attention not only from a scientific standpoint, but a societal standpoint as
we rely more and more on our technology.
Currently, scientists do not fully understand why and how solar flares occur. However, they have and
continue to perform research into how the Sun creates solar flares. As scientists understood it now,
solar flares occur in relation to the magnetic fields of the Sun.1 These magnetic fields continuously
shift and twist around. They believe the movement of the magnetic fields causes a buildup of energy
which results in a solar flare, but scientists have not been able to sufficiently explain how the
mechanism works.2
Our lack of understanding solar flare physics makes predicting a solar flare tricky so we must rely on
past observations.

After the September 11th terrorist attack on the World...
After the September 11th terrorist attack on the World Trade Centre by the Islamic radical group al

to pass the USA Patriot Act, which roughly is an Act to deter and punish acts of terrorism in the
United States and around the world, to enhance law enforcement investigatory tools, and for other
purposes. After these unrelated terrorist attacks happened within weeks of each other congress knew
reform legislature was needed. Many Historians such as Brett Rubio believe that the USA Patriot Act

The Role Of Social Media On Healthcare
INTRODUCTION The healthcare industry is slowly embracing and recognizing the importance and
power of social media. Millions of people of all ages go online each day, to seek information, do
online research, share photos, write blogs, watch videos, play online games, and so much more. Many
healthcare businesses have already, or are starting, to create an online presence to capture the millions
of people that go online every day. Social media can help healthcare professionals and organizations to
promote and advertise their products and services locally and globally. Different healthcare social
media sites make it easier for consumers to locate the products and/or services they want to find.
Successful healthcare social media sites are designed to be engaging, interactive and to create positive
relationships with existing consumers. Then, potential new clients can make better purchasing
decisions based on the first hand experience from others who have personal knowledge of the product
or service. ROLE OF HEALTHCARE SOCIAL MEDIA The role of social media in healthcare
follows the same principles as most other industries in terms of mass communication, global reach,
engagement, and instantaneous feedback from and to a relevant group of people. In short, the
healthcare social media platform is an effective, low cost method to share information, create
communities, and maintain relationships with key groups. The Executive Director of Deloitte

Positive And Positive Aspects Of A Positive School
Introduction
A positive school climate is essential. Schools with a positive climate tend to have less discipline
problems. In addition, positive climates can encourage positive development, as well as promote
academic motivation and engagement. This, in turn leads to fewer absences and improvements in
academic achievement.
Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) is a prevention oriented way for school
personnel to organize evidence based practices, improve their implementation of those practices, and
maximize academic and social behavior outcomes for students. (PBIS: Positive Behavioral
Interventions Supports, 2015)
Creating a system that recognizes and appreciates positive behavior is a key part of maintaining a
positive school climate.
Participants
Teams identified at the school will consist of an administrator, counselor, lead teacher, and PBIS
coordinator or other student services coordinator. Substitutions for team members are permitted except
for the school administrator.
Teams, with the assistance of a facilitator from the School Safety Resource Center, the Anti
Defamation League or the Colorado Education Initiative, would work through data and decide on a
plan of action.
After receiving the necessary training, the selected team would then present material to school staff
and monitor progress throughout the school year through staff evaluations and student and parent
surveys.

Christian Beliefs In Dorothy Sayers s The Mind Of The Maker
Dorothy Sayers was one of the most renown female British Christian writers of the twentieth century.
Her best works were in the field of crime and mysterious fiction, however the The Mind of the Maker,
a Christian theological novel that challenged the ideas of Christian beliefs, quickly grabbed the
attention of many in England. Published in the year of 1941, a time period of chaos and distraught
throughout Europe due to warfare that continued to dominate world affairs. Sayers laid the foundation
of great contemporaries in the Church of England were T. S. Eliot, C.S. Lewis and Charles Williams
were acquainted. She portrays the doctrine of the Trinity by relating it to the process of writing fiction,
a concept that she could speak on with tremendous knowledge.
The Mind of the Maker sets forth an analogical study of the Christian doctrine of the Trinity,
comparing the various aspects of the Godhead to the human person. Sayers demonstrates this by
shedding a new perspective on a set of statements made in the Christian creeds. The word Creed is
derived from the Latin word credo, translating to the meaning of I believe . Moreover, The Creeds are
a summary of beliefs in Christianity. In the early years after the death of Christ, churches encountered
the problem of opposing views over matters of whether he was truly God, or if he had both a human or
divine nature. This notion was established not because the early Fathers were eager to finalize the
language of what they believed

Though several personality disorders are highly complex and a challenge to treat, there are effective
treatments available ( Treating Borderline 1). The various treatments are broken down by method, the
first of which being cognitive behavioral therapy, which attempts to alter the conscious thoughts and
behavioral patterns of patients (Daniel); ( Treating Borderline 2). Cognitive behavior therapy itself is
broken down into two therapies, dialectical behavioral therapy and schema focused therapy ( Treating
Borderline 2). Dialectical behavioral therapy, developed by Dr. Linehan, is centered on the basis that
personality disorders are formed when hypersensitive patients are in situations which lack the
emotional support they require, therefore leading to their inability to regulate emotions ( Treating
Borderline 2). Thus, the treatment serves to help the patient gain control over their emotion and
behavior ( Treating Borderline 2). The treatment itself consists of group and individual sessions and
typically lasts approximately one year ( Treating Borderline 2). During the group sessions, patients
learn to become more aware of their behaviors and emotions through sessions pertaining to problem
solving, mindfulness meditation, and breath training ( Treating Borderline 2). In personal sessions,
referred to as psychotherapy, the psychiatrist explains to the patient how the lessons from the group
therapy sessions are applicable

Since this segment traded more frequently than others, they value DLJdirect fast and reliable service
that the company could offer. DLJdirect could provide the services that GRF segment sought which
are low fees, transaction confidence and site performance. The company could attempt to target this
segment but they should not spend a huge amount of money for this customer acquisition. Based on
exhibit 10 in the document, it showed that the size of this market segment is reducing as the years go

segment because they swing the health of the stock market. Another problem is that this segment
consists of less affluent traders. Therefore, it is advisable for them not to go into this market because
the company could not build a long term profitability in this segment.
In your opinion, are there other customer segments that DLJdirect should target? Why?

The Ideas, Meanings, And Power Dynamics
The ideas, meanings, and power dynamics in the three books we read are very different, however
some similarities are present. As far as veiling, the meanings within each book are primarily
complimentary. When looking at the views on how certain affairs, such as veiling, should be enforced
and interacted with, we see more skewed ideas. In general, all three show hegemonic qualities, yet
Young and Defiant in Tehran reveals more dominating than hegemonic qualities. Veiling is an
extremely debated and controversial topic all over the world. From what has been revealed, it can be
presumed that a substantial difference of veiling across the board, is enforcement. From Veiled
Sentiments to Young and Defiant in Tehran, the differences in ideas regarding veiling are noticeably
contrasting. The three anthropology texts involved, include further inside information and feelings
regarding veiling. In Veiled Sentiments by Lila Abu Lughod, veiling is a choice and is not forced on
women. Due to the faith and freedom of choice, most women willingly and happily veil properly.
Although sexuality is not a popular norm among the Bedouin, it is not the sole reason for veiling.
Granted, women will be criticized and mocked for not veiling or taking part in sexual affiliations.
Such mockery is described in a story where grandmothers react to the granddaughters Western style
negligees. Once the grandmothers had found out about them, they put them on, initially embarrassing

Homer s View Of The Traditional Greek View On Family
Homer has a strong opinion about the traditional Greek view on family and ancestry. Homer expresses
his disdain with the tendency to prioritize one s own glory over their family. Further, he ridicules the
unnecessarily large role that ancestral tradition plays in day to day life. Through the characters view
on family and ancestry Homer reveals the Greek s viewpoint on the afterlife, death, and the immortal
soul. Homer first portrays his view on ancestral tradition through the exchange between Glaukos and
Diomedes. He then makes his argument for family life through the dialogue between Hektor and
Andromache. Homer ties both ideas together with his revelation about belief in the afterlife. Homer
clearly prefers family and love over ancestral tradition and he makes his argument by embedding his
viewpoint within the dialogues.
Homer believes in the importance of family life and love, specifically the bond between living family
members. This is revealed in the exchange between Hektor and his wife Andromache. Hektor, the hero
of Troy, possesses the inhuman strength to turn the tide of the battle and as the Achaians push forward,
the city of Troy needs Hektor s battle skills. However, Hektor s wife, Andromache, begs her husband
not to enter the fray and advises him to draw your people up by the fig tree, there where the city is
openest to attack, and where the wall may be mounted (6.433 434). While Andromache gives Hektor

High School Should Not Be Legal
What is the most common reason why high school would go to college? My old friend Sean Kisch is
going to graduate with a major in music. His eldest sister will be done with her degree in modern
dance this semester. Looking at myself, I am not that far along. I attempted to navigate around college
because it was seen as too expensive. The mountain of debt for going to a private Christian college is
to grate to pay off. Most people are not made out of money. The money may not be the case because
an alternative does exist, it just is not as glorious. A person can obtain an associate s degree at a
community college for considerably less. Which is the choice I have made. I remember watching part
of my brothers Dave Ramsey financial piece university video. It stated that most high school teens
have the expectation of making mountains of cash. Most expected after college, they would make
around one hundred thousand dollars or more. That figure is much lower, an entry level position with
a college degree is between thirty and thirty five thousand. If you survive the odds of finishing school,
there is still the mammoth task of finding a job. The majority of student who graduate do not have any
not enough experience to enter most jobs. My friend Sean is going to Seedarville Univercity in Ohio,
he will have around forty to eighty thousand dollars of debt unless his parents are paying for it. My

Rights Of Man Thomas Paine Analysis
Since its foundation, America has been illustrated by its elaborate composition of diverse cultures,
ethnicities, and nationalities. This melting pot analogy attempts to illustrate the equal representation of
all cultures within the nation s boundaries. In the Rights of Man , however, Thomas Paine argues the
cordial unison of all citizens in America contributes to a single culture. As it was the Founding Fathers
intention, and Paine s expression alike, despite the diversity of its demographic, America performs in
harmony by constructing government on the principles of society and the rights of man . Instead of
expressing individuality, Paine believed all uniformities brought about the single American identity. In

response was not that at all. He sent for magicians and warlock s in the hope that they could harm the

this point it seems obvious that this was a threat. The messenger reported back to the king and spoke

refused to rule out the idea that they where gods. He sent prisoners from war to be sacrificed before

disgusted the Spanish, but more importantly it built a case for Motechuhzoma to believe these people

In the past, density and frequency were low enough and never acted like a constraint on the chip. But
as the scale of integration improved, the number of transistors being packed onto a chip has increased.
This lead to the increase of the operating frequency and processing capacity of the chip and thus
resulting in power dissipation. As a result, power efficiency is considered as a design goal along with
performance. Despite this acceptance, low power design methodologies are adopted at a slow pace
because of the effort that must be into at the abstraction level and at each phase of the design. Initially,
circuits were designed targeting the performance of the device. The cost associated with installing
fans, packing and cooling of such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
4.1.1 Switching Power This arises when the energy is drawn from the power supply to charge parasitic
capacitors Figure 4.1 Circuit for computing switching power of a CMOS gate [28] The energy stored
in the output load capacitance is given by Ecap=1/2CL.VDD2 (4.2) where CL is the load capacitance.
For the transition from 0 VDD, the capacitor stores half of the energy drawn from the power supply
and the other half is dissipated in the PMOS network. For the transition VDD 0, no charge is drawn
from the supply and the energy stored in the capacitor i.e 1/2CL.VDD2 is dissipated in the NMOS
network. 4.1.2 Short circuit Power The switching component of power is independent of the rise and
fall time of the logic gates. However, the finite rise and fall times of the input waveforms result in a
direct current path between VDD and GND for a short period of time and both PMOS and NMOS
devices are ON. Such kind of behaviour leads to incorrect evaluations. Pshort circuit= /2(V_DD

currents can be eliminated if the supply is lowered to a value below the sum of the thresholds of the
transistors. 4.1.3 Leakage Power There are two types leakage currents reverse bias diode leakage and
sub threshold leakage. The magnitude of these currents is affected by the technology. 4.1.3.1 Diode

The Argument From The Sanctity Of Human Life
The moral response would be to save the child. One could only imagine that it would be in the child s
best interest to save their life. It would then be considered immoral not to save the child, because then
the child might drown, and therefore die. There are two arguments that back this response and they
are: The Argument That We Should Save as Many as We Can, and also the Argument from the
Sanctity of Human Life. The Argument That We Should Save as Many as We Can is straight forward.
Life is precious, and thus it should be valued in the same way. The girl that was drowning was yelling
for help, so therefore she wanted to be saved. The moral reason would be to save or help this girl or
anyone else who is need; if it is in their best interest and will not inflict harm on others. ... Show more

(Rachels, p.7) Rachels does states though their might be some rare circumstances were killing is
justified; but that does not pertain to this case. If someone knowingly walked away from this girl that
was drowning, and let her drown it would go against this argument. Like previously mentioned above
life is precious, and it is morally wrong to let an innocent human being suffer and down which will
eventually lead up to their death. It would be immoral not to save this innocent girl from drowning.
Based on the about moral reasoning and facts, all life is precious and lives should be saved; if it s in

The sources describe the aspects of both the positives and negatives depicting each side of the

with deadlines, stress, worry, anxiety, and responsibilities. People play them because they are
entertaining, riveting, and a way to spend leisure time. Most often, they are used to go after certain
passions. Sports fans love to play football and baseball video games. Hunters and outdoor enthusiasts
enjoy playing action packed Big Game hunting games and extreme sports games. Many chess lovers
and even gamblers who cannot find enough human opponents to compete with will play computer
chess and gambling games or even seek competition from online players. Video games are often used
to help people focus on something other than life s unsettling problems and issues. For a few
moments, the players kind of lose themselves in their TV screen as they feel a release from the real

Summary Of Parmenide
In just 20 lines in section 11.8 of his poem, Parmenides gives at least three arguments for why what is
is ungenerated. I will present and explain each argument, the first two briefly and the last at more
length because I consider his third argument to be his most comprehensive. Last, I will address his
explanation of why what is is imperishable.
Argument 1.
Any given thing requires a reason to be generated, including what is (supplied)
It makes no sense to say that a reason suddenly existed for what is to be generated (11.8, 9 10)
Therefore what is was not generated (11.8, 11)
This argument takes place in the space of just a few lines, in which Parmenides poses a question what
need would have roused it, later or earlier, to grow, having begun from nothing? (11.8, 9 10). It here
refers to what is. He assumes that everything has a reason to be generated some specific need but he
cannot see why this reason would suddenly appear. The phrase later or earlier might point to how
difficult it is to believe that at an arbitrary moment in time what is suddenly had a reason to spring into
existence. If no such need could have appeared, then what is could not have been generated.
Parmenides applies this argument specifically to what is being generated from what is not, or having
begun from nothing (11.8, 10). And the argument certainly does seem to challenge the idea of
generation from nothing, but I have left it neutral as regards the source of what is in my reconstruction
here. I did this because I believe he can also apply Argument 1 to challenge the idea of generation
from what is, not only from what is not. It should apply to both because the only way to say that what
is is not generated is to show that it is generated from neither what is not, nor what is. More on this in
Argument 3.
Argument 2.
Someone or something must bring any given thing, including what is, into existence (supplied)
No one can make anything come into existence (11.8, 12)
Therefore what is cannot be generated (11.8, 13 14)
This is a difficult argument to suss out, especially since once again it takes place in only three lines.
But he says that the force of conviction cannot make anything come to be out of

The Financial Crisis Of 2007 Essay
Seven billion people affected. How can a single screw up lead to a mess that not even governments
can fix? How can something so severe continue to damage countries financially 5 years after it began?
Many people didn t see it coming. But what s worse is that the people that did see it coming,
contributed to it. Yes. They fueled this mess. And now we can t get out of it. This is the financial crisis
of 2007 . Let s dig in to where it all began. The subprime mortgage crisis was a result of mortgage
brokers selling mortgage products to people with terrible credit, no down payments for the house, no
stable income into the home, and basically no nothing instead of selling it to responsible people who
they knew would not default on their mortgage. (Let s call the reliable homeowners prime and the
unreliable ones sub prime for times sake). They would give out home mortgages to everyone knowing
that they wouldn t be responsible for the mortgage that they give out, but that they would be able to
sell them to investment bankers, who would then sell them to investors, hedge funds, etc or at least be
left with a house as housing prices always rise. But let s start from the beginning of how this whole
mess started. So Wall St. hatched an idea to connect investors to home owners through mortgages. A
family decides that they want to purchase a house so they save up for a down payment and then
contact a mortgage broker who connects them to a mortgage lender who sells them a mortgage. The

situation living under the circumstances that he does. His family keeps pressuring into avenging his

world was against him. He avoids getting into trouble or doing drugs because he knows that he wants
a good future and doing those things would not help. He keeps his head down and works for his dollar
no matter how hard it can get for him. He wrote the book to explain how hard some people work for
what they have. It is not always an easy road and he makes sure to explain it very well how hard he
had it. His own family were the ones encouraging ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Turning against the world of drugs and violence, Eddie vows to take the straight and narrow path,
even if it means struggling at temporary manual labor jobs. So when he takes a landscaping job for a
white man across town thinking that god had finally heard him, the man s truck is stolen from the
front of Eddie s apartment causing yet another problem to add on. He hid for hours and days drinking
because he really liked his job with the white man and was afraid of what might happen to him.
Although getting the truck stolen from him kinda seems like a big deal, it is not because that sort of
thing happens daily in the streets of fresno that he lived by, it was almost like that was something
normal to him. So when his aunt gets home she reminds him yet another time that his cousin died only
this time a gun came with the tortillas she would try and persuade him with the avenge the death of
her son.
In my opinion no matter how much eddie tries to stay away from trouble it always ends up finding
him. He gets all these opportunities and something bad happens every single time it seems like. I do
not think eddie is the issue either it is all of what he is surrounded by that keeps messing him up and
getting him off track, I think that he should continue working the jobs he has and move away from
there to see how successful he can become then. Because if his own family is wanting

Oral History Of Generational Report On My Mother s Life
This oral history generational report is about my mother, Mary Fremont on her life experiences and
beliefs that guided her in life. To achieve a historical outline of facts and experiences, I interviewed
her in person. The interview took about two hours. As the interviewer, I asked five simplistic questions
that were mostly open ended to provide a dialogue that was not hindered by content of the question.
Furthermore, on several accounts there were in depth follow up questions to engage in a deeper
discussion that will enhance the oral history report timeline.
The beginning of the interview started with a question that would highlight the timeline of my mother
s life. I asked where and when were you born? Mary responded by stating that she was born in
Oakland, California on December 8, 1959. My follow up question was what major events where
happening during the time you were born in Oakland. She indicated that it was a time of racial
conflicts and violence. I asked how long did your family stay in Oakland? She indicated that by the
time of three years old, because of racial issues in the neighborhood and school systems they felt it
was no longer safe for them.
I followed up this comment with a question on how did this racial conflict in her neighborhood affect
her family personally. She indicated that her family lived in a low middle income neighborhood with a
school that was placed on the borderline of her neighborhood and a low income neighborhood. The

Explain The Purpose Of An Operating System
Explain the purpose of an Operating System: Operating Systems manage hardware and provide
services for application software; this means that it makes it easier for users to interact with different
software and hardware available on the computer. The most common operating systems are Windows,
Mac OS X, and Linux. While each OS is different, they all provide a graphical user interface GUI a
GUI allows users to click and drag objects with a mouse instead of entering text at a command line.
Characteristics of an Operating System: Multi User allows multiple users to use the same computer at
the same time or different times. The most common and most well known OS that use s multi user is
Windows 7. Multitasking is performing more than one task at the same time, a task being a program.
Multiprocessing is the support of more than one processor at the same time. Applications in a multi
processing system are broken into smaller routines that run by themselves. Multithreading is the
operating system process to manage its use by more than one user at a time or manage multiple tasks
by the same user without having the need of multiple copies of the program running on the computer.
GUI (Graphical User Interface) allows users to click and drag objects with a mouse instead of entering
text at a command line. A GUI uses windows, icons, and menus to carry out commands for instance
opening files, deleting files, and moving files. Main four functions of an Operating System: Control

The Effect OfSolar Flares On Our Future Essay Possibly the most dramatic event that occurs within our solar system is the solar flare. Scientists have spent much time studying this solar phenomenon attempting to learn how to predict them. This in turn has caused a significant increase in understanding the anatomy of solar flares to include the phases of flares and what they emit. Bringing things closer to Earth, the emissions of solar flares can have a significant impact in today s technological world. By far, the largest impact of solar flares to our technology is radio blackouts. The emissions of solar flares cause scintillation to occur in the ionosphere effectively blocking long distance transmissions. Solar flares are excessively bright and powerful and so deserve our attention not only from a scientific standpoint, but a societal standpoint as we rely more and more on our technology. Currently, scientists do not fully understand why and how solar flares occur. However, they have and continue to perform research into how the Sun creates solar flares. As scientists understood it now, solar flares occur in relation to the magnetic fields of the Sun.1 These magnetic fields continuously shift and twist around. They believe the movement of the magnetic fields causes a buildup of energy which results in a solar flare, but scientists have not been able to sufficiently explain how the mechanism works.2 Our lack of understanding solar flare physics makes predicting a solar flare tricky so we must rely on past observations. ... The Role OfSocial Media On Healthcare INTRODUCTION The healthcare industry is slowly embracing and recognizing the importance and power of social media. Millions of people of all ages go online each day, to seek information, do online research, share photos, write blogs, watch videos, play online games, and so much more. Many healthcare businesses have already, or are starting, to create an online presence to capture the millions of people that go online every day. Social media can help healthcare professionals and organizations to promote and advertise their products and services locally and globally. Different healthcare social media sites make it easier for consumers to locate the products and/or services they want to find. Successful healthcare social media sites are designed to be engaging, interactive and to create positive relationships with existing consumers. Then, potential new clients can make better purchasing decisions based on the first hand experience from others who have personal knowledge of the product or service. ROLE OF HEALTHCARE SOCIAL MEDIA The role of social media in healthcare follows the same principles as most other industries in terms of mass communication, global reach, engagement, and instantaneous feedback from and to a relevant group of people. In short, the healthcare social media platform is an effective, low cost method to share information, create communities, and maintain relationships with key groups. Positive And PositiveAspects Of A Positive School Introduction A positive school climate is essential. Schools with a positive climate tend to have less discipline problems. In addition, positive climates can encourage positive development, as well as promote academic motivation and engagement. This, in turn leads to fewer absences and improvements in academic achievement. Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) is a prevention oriented way for school personnel to organize evidence based practices, improve their implementation of those practices, and maximize academic and social behavior outcomes for students. Christian Beliefs InDorothy Sayers s The Mind Of The Maker Dorothy Sayers was one of the most renown female British Christian writers of the twentieth century. Her best works were in the field of crime and mysterious fiction, however the The Mind of the Maker, a Christian theological novel that challenged the ideas of Christian beliefs, quickly grabbed the attention of many in England. Published in the year of 1941, a time period of chaos and distraught throughout Europe due to warfare that continued to dominate world affairs. Sayers laid the foundation of great contemporaries in the Church of England were T. S. Eliot, C.S. Lewis and Charles Williams were acquainted. She portrays the doctrine of the Trinity by relating it to the process of writing fiction, a concept that she could speak on with tremendous knowledge. The Mind of the Maker sets forth an analogical study of the Christian doctrine of the Trinity, comparing the various aspects of the Godhead to the human person. Sayers demonstrates this by shedding a new perspective on a set of statements made in the Christian creeds. The word Creed is derived from the Latin word credo, translating to the meaning of I believe . Moreover, The Creeds are a summary of beliefs in Christianity. In the early years after the death of Christ, churches encountered the problem of opposing views over matters of whether he was truly God, or if he had both a human or divine nature. Diagnosis and Treatmentof Borderline Personality... The diagnostic process for personality disorders currently covers a broad scope of various tests and symptoms, causing a source of frustration for psychiatrists (Aldhous). The symptoms and side effects of several personality disorders can tend to blur together, making diagnosis challenging (Aldhous). Most psychiatric patients are diagnosed with several personality disorders at once, with twenty percent of people with personality disorders simply diagnosed with a personality disorder not otherwise specified (Aldhous). Using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders, commonly referred to as the DSM, psychiatrists attempt with great difficulty to categorize their patients into a specific disorder, only to diagnose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though several personality disorders are highly complex and a challenge to treat, there are effective treatments available ( Treating Borderline 1). The various treatments are broken down by method, the first of which being cognitive behavioral therapy, which attempts to alter the conscious thoughts and behavioral patterns of patients (Daniel); ( Treating Borderline 2). Cognitive behavior therapy itself is broken down into two therapies, dialectical behavioral therapy and schema focused therapy ( Treating Borderline 2). Dialectical behavioral therapy, developed by Dr. Linehan, is centered on the basis that personality disorders are formed when hypersensitive patients are in situations which lack the emotional support they require, therefore leading to their inability to regulate emotions ( Treating Borderline 2). Thus, the treatment serves to help the patient gain control over their emotion and behavior ( Treating Borderline 2). The treatment itself consists of group and individual sessions and typically lasts approximately one year ( Treating Borderline 2). During the group sessions, patients learn to become more aware of their behaviors and emotions through sessions pertaining to problem solving, mindfulness meditation, and breath training ( Treating Borderline 2). In personal sessions, referred to as psychotherapy, the psychiatrist explains to the patient how the lessons from the group therapy sessions are applicable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Ideas, Meanings,And Power Dynamics The ideas, meanings, and power dynamics in the three books we read are very different, however some similarities are present. As far as veiling, the meanings within each book are primarily complimentary. When looking at the views on how certain affairs, such as veiling, should be enforced and interacted with, we see more skewed ideas. In general, all three show hegemonic qualities, yet Young and Defiant in Tehran reveals more dominating than hegemonic qualities. Veiling is an extremely debated and controversial topic all over the world. From what has been revealed, it can be presumed that a substantial difference of veiling across the board, is enforcement. From Veiled Sentiments to Young and Defiant in Tehran, the differences in ideas regarding veiling are noticeably contrasting. The three anthropology texts involved, include further inside information and feelings regarding veiling. In Veiled Sentiments by Lila Abu Lughod, veiling is a choice and is not forced on women. Due to the faith and freedom of choice, most women willingly and happily veil properly. Although sexuality is not a popular norm among the Bedouin, it is not the sole reason for veiling. Granted, women will be criticized and mocked for not veiling or taking part in sexual affiliations. Such mockery is described in a story where grandmothers react to the granddaughters Western style negligees. Homer s ViewOf The Traditional Greek View On Family Homer has a strong opinion about the traditional Greek view on family and ancestry. Homer expresses his disdain with the tendency to prioritize one s own glory over their family. Further, he ridicules the unnecessarily large role that ancestral tradition plays in day to day life. Through the characters view on family and ancestry Homer reveals the Greek s viewpoint on the afterlife, death, and the immortal soul. Homer first portrays his view on ancestral tradition through the exchange between Glaukos and Diomedes. He then makes his argument for family life through the dialogue between Hektor and Andromache. Homer ties both ideas together with his revelation about belief in the afterlife. Homer clearly prefers family and love over ancestral tradition and he makes his argument by embedding his viewpoint within the dialogues. Homer believes in the importance of family life and love, specifically the bond between living family members. This is revealed in the exchange between Hektor and his wife Andromache. Hektor, the hero of Troy, possesses the inhuman strength to turn the tide of the battle and as the Achaians push forward, the city of Troy needs Hektor s battle skills. However, Hektor s wife, Andromache, begs her husband not to enter the fray and advises him to draw your people up by the fig tree, there where the city is openest to attack, and where the wall may be mounted (6.433 434). High School ShouldNot Be Legal What is the most common reason why high school would go to college? My old friend Sean Kisch is going to graduate with a major in music. His eldest sister will be done with her degree in modern dance this semester. Looking at myself, I am not that far along. I attempted to navigate around college because it was seen as too expensive. The mountain of debt for going to a private Christian college is to grate to pay off. Most people are not made out of money. The money may not be the case because an alternative does exist, it just is not as glorious. A person can obtain an associate s degree at a community college for considerably less. Which is the choice I have made. I remember watching part of my brothers Dave Ramsey financial piece university video. It stated that most high school teens have the expectation of making mountains of cash. Most expected after college, they would make around one hundred thousand dollars or more. That figure is much lower, an entry level position with a college degree is between thirty and thirty five thousand. If you survive the odds of finishing school, there is still the mammoth task of finding a job. The majority of student who graduate do not have any not enough experience to enter most jobs. Rights Of ManThomas Paine Analysis Since its foundation, America has been illustrated by its elaborate composition of diverse cultures, ethnicities, and nationalities. This melting pot analogy attempts to illustrate the equal representation of all cultures within the nation s boundaries. In the Rights of Man , however, Thomas Paine argues the cordial unison of all citizens in America contributes to a single culture. As it was the Founding Fathers intention, and Paine s expression alike, despite the diversity of its demographic, America performs in harmony by constructing government on the principles of society and the rights of man . The book is much different from others written about the defeat of the empire because it was written from the vantage point of the Aztecs rather then the Spanish. Portilla describes in depth many different reasons why the Spanish were successful in the defeat of such a strong Empire. Portilla starts out by giving a thorough background of the culture and religious beliefs. The reader can draw many theories on how this carried over to the Aztecs way of thinking and fighting. At this point a good leader would have realized the threat to his land, and would start to prepare for an attack or defense. Motechuhzoma s response was not that at all. He sent for magicians and warlock s in the hope that they could harm the Spaniards (32). This clearly shows that the king is not in control, but rather confused and scared. At this point it seems obvious that this was a threat. The messenger reported back to the king and spoke of the power of the Spanish, along with all of the weapons. Even after hearing all that, Motechuhzoma refused to rule out the idea that they where gods. The Importance OfPower Diasipation In Design Circuits In the past, density and frequency were low enough and never acted like a constraint on the chip. But as the scale of integration improved, the number of transistors being packed onto a chip has increased. This lead to the increase of the operating frequency and processing capacity of the chip and thus resulting in power dissipation. As a result, power efficiency is considered as a design goal along with performance. Despite this acceptance, low power design methodologies are adopted at a slow pace because of the effort that must be into at the abstraction level and at each phase of the design. Initially, circuits were designed targeting the performance of the device. The cost associated with installing fans, packing and cooling of such ... The Argument FromThe Sanctity Of Human Life The moral response would be to save the child. One could only imagine that it would be in the child s best interest to save their life. It would then be considered immoral not to save the child, because then the child might drown, and therefore die. There are two arguments that back this response and they are: The Argument That We Should Save as Many as We Can, and also the Argument from the Sanctity of Human Life. The Argument That We Should Save as Many as We Can is straight forward. Life is precious, and thus it should be valued in the same way. Summary Of Parmenide Injust 20 lines in section 11.8 of his poem, Parmenides gives at least three arguments for why what is is ungenerated. I will present and explain each argument, the first two briefly and the last at more length because I consider his third argument to be his most comprehensive. Last, I will address his explanation of why what is is imperishable. Argument 1. Any given thing requires a reason to be generated, including what is (supplied) It makes no sense to say that a reason suddenly existed for what is to be generated (11.8, 9 10) Therefore what is was not generated (11.8, 11) This argument takes place in the space of just a few lines, in which Parmenides poses a question what need would have roused it, later or earlier, to grow, having begun from nothing? (11.8, 9 10). It here refers to what is. He assumes that everything has a reason to be generated some specific need but he cannot see why this reason would suddenly appear. The phrase later or earlier might point to how difficult it is to believe that at an arbitrary moment in time what is suddenly had a reason to spring into existence. If no such need could have appeared, then what is could not have been generated. Parmenides applies this argument specifically to what is being generated from what is not, or having begun from nothing (11.8, 10). And the argument certainly does seem to challenge the idea of generation from nothing, but I have left it neutral as regards the source of what is in my reconstruction here. I did this because I believe he can also apply Argument 1 to challenge the idea of generation from what is, not only from what is not. It should apply to both because the only way to say that what is is not generated is to show that it is generated from neither what is not, nor what is. More on this in Argument 3. Argument 2. Someone or something must bring any given thing, including what is, into existence (supplied) No one can make anything come into existence (11.8, 12) Therefore what is cannot be generated (11.8, 13 14) This is a difficult argument to suss out, especially since once again it takes place in only three lines. The Financial CrisisOf 2007 Essay Seven billion people affected. How can a single screw up lead to a mess that not even governments can fix? How can something so severe continue to damage countries financially 5 years after it began? Many people didn t see it coming. But what s worse is that the people that did see it coming, contributed to it. Yes. They fueled this mess. And now we can t get out of it. This is the financial crisis of 2007 . Let s dig in to where it all began. The subprime mortgage crisis was a result of mortgage brokers selling mortgage products to people with terrible credit, no down payments for the house, no stable income into the home, and basically no nothing instead of selling it to responsible people who they knew would not default on their mortgage. (Let s call the reliable homeowners prime and the unreliable ones sub prime for times sake). They would give out home mortgages to everyone knowing that they wouldn t be responsible for the mortgage that they give out, but that they would be able to sell them to investment bankers, who would then sell them to investors, hedge funds, etc or at least be left with a house as housing prices always rise. But let s start from the beginning of how this whole mess started. So Wall St. hatched an idea to connect investors to home owners through mortgages. A family decides that they want to purchase a house so they save up for a down payment and then contact a mortgage broker who connects them to a mortgage lender who sells them a mortgage. The ... To achieve a historical outline of facts and experiences, I interviewed her in person. The interview took about two hours. As the interviewer, I asked five simplistic questions that were mostly open ended to provide a dialogue that was not hindered by content of the question.
