About IBPS & IBPS SO Exam
IBPS conducts recruitment examinations through a standard recruitment program (CRP) for all Public
Sector Banks.
INTRODUCTION
IBPS completes the recruitment process for Specialist Officer for Law, HR, IT, Management,
Marketing, and Agricultural Field Officer.
IBPS Specialist Officer comprises three stages of recruitment.
1.Preliminary Exam: Candidates need to qualify in the preliminary exam to reach the next level
of selection.
2.Main Exam: After passing the preliminary exam, the candidate will be eligible to take the main
exam.
3.Interview: Candidates who succeed in the main exam will be called for an interview.
Candidates who successfully clear the interview will be recruited as Specialist Officers in
participating banks.

A candidate has to meet the age and education qualification criteria to
apply for IBPS SO.
Nationality / Citizenship of Applicants:
A candidate must be an Indian citizen to applying for IBPS SO
Examination.
Educational Qualification (As on 23.11.2020):
The candidate should hold a graduation degree in any discipline from
an approved University.
Age (As on 01.11.2020):
Minimum: 20 years
Maximum: 30 years
Relaxation of Upper age limit
There are some relaxation for the upper age limit candidate related to
backward class and service officers.

Syllabus for IBPS SO is almost like the bank
probationary officer’s syllabus. It also consists of
professional knowledge check for specific to each

IBPS SO EXAM PATTERN
Preliminary Examination
Post – Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari
The time duration for each exam is 40 minutes.
•English Language: In English, a test of 50
questions and the maximum marks for the same is 25
marks.
•Reasoning Ability: It contains an examination of 50
questions, and the maximum marks for the same are
50 marks.
•General Awareness with Special Reference to
Banking Industry: It also includes the same marking
as Reasoning.
Post – Law, IT, HR/Personnel Officer, Agriculture

The time duration for each exam is 45 minutes.
•Professional Knowledge – It contains only a paper
of 60 questions, and the maximum marks are also
the same.

A preliminary exam is a qualification exam. Candidates who
qualify for prelims will be called for the main exam. On the
basis of cut-off marks, candidates will be called for an
interview. For final selection.

IBPS SO Prelims Admit Card
The IBPS SO Prelims test is the first step in the recruiting process of
IBPS SO. Following the successful completion of the application
process, candidates will given prelims admission cards.
IBPS SO Mains Admit Card
Candidates who successfully clear the Prelims Exam will qualify for
the mains exam and the admit card for the mains exam will be
provided to them.
IBPS SO Interview Call Letter
Candidates who pass the IBPS SO mains exam will receive an
Interview Call Letter. In addition, the participating banks will conduct
IBPS SO interviews, which the Nodal Bank will manage in each
State/UT with the support of IBPS.
The IBPS SO Interview will occur at the designated centers. The
date, time, and location of the interview are printed on the Interview
Call Letter.

HOW TO APPLY?
Step 1: IBPS SO Registration
•Visit the official website https://www.ibps.in/
•Click the link ‘New Registration’ on the home page of IBPS
•Enter name, phone number, email id, and security code
•a provisional registration number and password are generated after
successful registration
•The provisional registration number and password are also sent to the
registered email ID and password
Step 2: Upload Photo and Signature
•Post-registration, candidates need to upload the photograph, signature, left
thumb impression, and handwritten declaration.
•Signature in capital letters will not be accepted.
•The left thumb impression should be properly visible.
•The handwritten declaration should be in English only.
Step 3: Fill the detailed application form
This page is divided into three parts – basic details, educational qualification
& experience, and preferences. Check details below:
Basic details: In this part, candidates need to fill in the category, nationality,
personal information, select exam centers, date of birth, gender, father’s
name or mother’s name, address, etc.
Preferences: Candidates need to enter the importance of banks where they
wish to work upon selection. SC/ST/Minority candidates can opt for pre-exam
training in this part.
