ICT has great potential for teaching and learning outcomes .
The realization of this potential depends much on how the
teacher uses the technology . This would in turn depend
among other things on the kind of training that the teacher
has undergone . Education is a powerful tool for social
change . Education is a never ending process which transfers
the morals and values of our culture to next generation . It
enables to develop and build up new generation of our
nation.in this context school play an important roll in
transformation of ICT in Education.
INTRODUCTION.
 CAI is an interactive instructional technique where by a
computer is used to present the instructional material ,
monitor the learning and select additional instructional
material in accordance with individual learner needs.
 CAI refers to the use of the computer as a tool to facilitate
and improve instruction . It uses a combination of text ,
sound and video in enhancing the learning process.
COMPUTER ASSISTED INSTRUCTIONS.
Meaning and definations.
There was a need of such instruction process helped by the men or
machine which would meet the following conditions for an ideal individualized
self-instruction.
• Learner must be free to get instruction at his own will.
• The sequencing of learner experience must be tune with the experience and
ability of individual learner
• There must be a variety of programs or learning sequence available for
meeting the requirements of each and every learner.
• The resource media , man or machine must be able to provide needed
assistance and proper answer to the querries of each and every leaner.
• Every learner must have a free and friendly access to the resource media on
the pattern of tutorial system.
• The learner irrespective of their number must be able to interact with the
resource media as and when they need so.
NEEDS OF CAI.
1. Freedom to experiment with different options.
2. Instantaneous response feedback to the answers .
3. Self pacing allow students to proceed at their own
pace.
4. Learn more and more rapidly.
5. Multimedia helps to understand difficult concepts
through multi sensory approach.
ADVANTAGES.
1) May feel overwhelmed by the information and resources.
2) Non availability of good CAI packages.
3) Lack of infrastructure.
Basic assumptions of CAI.
1. Instruction for a number of learner at a time.
2. Automatic recording to the learners performance.
3. Variety in the use of methods and techniques.
LIMITATIONS OF CAI.
 A system which can provide administrative support to
instructors for managing instructional materials and
activities.
 The use of computers and software to manage the
instructional process.
 CMI is the answer to educational difficulties with
individualisation .
COMPUTER MANAGED INSTRUCTION.
 Flexibility.
 Online learning offers o tremendous opportunity to learner without the
limitations of time or location .
 Interaction with faculty and students.
 A variety of communication tools support synchronous and asynchronous
interaction.
 Real word skill.
 Input and storage of student data .
 Input and storage of curricular data.
 Retrival and analysis of the data relating student scores and activity to the
curriculum data.
 Generation of various repots showing individual or group progress of
current status.
Advantages of CMI.
o Sometimes flexibility can ba a disadvantage .
Students must be able to manage their learning ,
interpret .
o Less social interaction with other students.
o Requires more self discipline and time management.
Disadvantages of CMI.
 CMC is used to refers to a wide range of technologies that
facilitate both human communication and the interactive
sharing of information through computer network.
ADVANTAGES.
1. Enhance the flow of communication.
2. Break down the barriers to communication.
3. Equalize participation.
4. Networked organization
5. Recordability .
6. Flexibility.
COMPUTER MEDIATED COMMUNICATION.
 According to the new Oxford American Dictionary a
podcast is a “digital recording of a radio broadcast or
similar program made available on the internet for
downloading to a personal audio player”.
Podcasting in classroom:
1. It is fairly new technology.
2. It is a series of audio or visual clips for people to listen
or watch.
3. Has many different uses, not all of which are intended
for classroom.
EDUCATIONAL PODCASTING.
 It is often called as online learning or e-learning because it
includes online course content , discussion forums , video
conference and live lectures are all possible through the web.
Web based courses may also provide static pages such as
printed course materials.
 The learners searches website , collects information and learns
the lesson.
 Web is a visible tool to help student to gain education without
being on campus.
 Web based learning is learning that uses the world-wide-web or
the internet as a means and a methods for delivery for learning
and instruction.
WEB BASED LEARNING.
1. Ability to link resources in many different formats.
2. Can be an efficient way of delivering course materials.
3. Resources can be made available from any location and
at any time.
4. Potential for widening access
5. It can encourage more independent and active learning.
6. It can provide a useful source of supplementary material
to convential programes.
ADVANTAGES OF WBL.
A. Access to appropriate computer equipment can be a
problem for students.
B. Learners find it frustrating if they cannot access
graphics , images and video clips because of poor
equipments.
C. The necessary infrastructure must be available and
affordable.
D. Information can vary in quality and accuracy . So
guidance is needed.
DISADVANTAGES OF WBL:
 Cloud computing is distributed computing on
internet or delivery of computing service over the
internet.
ADVANTAGES OF CLOUD COMPUTING.
 Lower computing cost.
 Improved performance.
 Provides complete backup and recovery.
DISADVANTAGES.
Slow speed.
Requires internet connection.
Limited features.
CLOUD COMPUTING.
 As discussed in this paper such as world-wide-web , internet ,
phones, teleconference , wi- fi , are most advanced trends in ICT.
The successful implementation of these trends depends
on educating community . If the teachers come to know
when , how , where, and which trends in ICT suitable for
teaching method for the drastic change. Skills and
competencies will be observed among the learner and
teacher . By incorporating these technological trends into
the educational can be provided at a cheaper cost and
spread over a larger segment of the Indian population.
CONCLUSION.
THANK YOU
