Editing Images
Via PhotoShop
Image Editing Experience
I did decide to edit some of my chosen images on PhotoShop before using them in
creating both my digipak and my advert. I chose my photos by screenshotting some
static scenes from my raw footage that had been used within my music video.
However, I do need to hold another shoot and therefore may be able to find some
better suited photos for the purpose. I wanted to record the processes that I went
through on photoshop for future references, as it will be useful when I choose to edit
photos again. Due to my previous experience of using PhotoShop I didn’t find editing
my photos too difficult.
Step 1
Firstly, I imported the JPEG file into photoshop and then went onto the ‘levels’
selection which is located in the top section tool bar. Here, I was able to edit both
the shadows and highlights of my image, enabling the photo to have a much more
professional appearance. I also chose to tweak the lighting and contrast as this can
enable a photograph to become a higher quality.
Step 2
I further decided to edit the saturation for some of my photos as this can allow
bright/colourful photos to look as though they have even more colour than they
already do. I did this by slightly increasing the ‘saturation bar’, I only did this slightly
as the bar was highly sensitive to movement and I did not want the images to
become to saturated.
