the old buildings. They expect to find dead bodies

The Setting
An abandoned army camp
Target Audience
Our target audience is mainly young adult males
however this is not exclusive. Some females of a
similar age group could also be fans of the film. We
don't really want to narrow down the target audience
too deep but we are directing this to what we would
consider normal teenagers. People that go to school
and consume unhealthy amounts of time on the
internet, whether it being shopping or socialising.
Teenagers that are never off their phones and go out
at more or less every opportunity. We would like this
to be portrayed in our group of characters so the
audience can really relate, there will be elements of
parody of todays culture in the film, however it won’t
over shadow the action and horror.
Conventions
Our main concern is captivating the audiences through different
techniques in this fast paced horror. We hope to do this using rapid and
frantic cuts to convey the terror the characters are feeling.

The overall look of the film will be very dark and moody, however at the
beginning of the film before the zombies break out, it has a positive and
friendly mood, contrasting the much more dark and horror filled mood
to come. We envisioned it beginning with a conventional group of social
teenagers with different representations. Although we want them to be
normal we would also like to show some individuality amongst them so
they are not all the same. This could be through the way they dress and
their appearance. This allows the audience to relate through a wider
range of characters, and with our target audience being young adults
and the characters being of similar age the audience have quite a lot to
see relate too.
It will feature a very abstract soundtrack of completely
instrumental songs in order to keep the focus on the actors. We
don't want more mainstream artists such as Coldplay that
wouldn't fit the style of film as it takes away the feel.

However we’re trying to go against the norm, rather than have
main characters that are like action men, we’re trying to make
them more believable and realistic. Which will hopefully cause
the audience to ask themselves questions like what would
happen if they were in that situation. Making it easier for the
audience to relate to them. We are hoping to follow similar styles
to films like 28 weeks later with fast paced intense zombies
rather than more traditional slow moving zombies. This is much
more exciting, to watch a nail biting chase rather than montage
of people hitting slow helpless zombies over the head.
Production/Distribution
We created out own production companies, Interstellar Pictures…
and Dancing Panda Productions
Interstellar is involved in the creation of
the film itself and Dancing panda will
                      handle distribution and marketing.
The film will involve the internet
extremely heavily in its campaign, it will
also have a few screenings at local
                      independent cinemas. However most
likely, people will watch the film online
on either YouTube or its own website. On the website you can
choose to make donations rather than paying to watch to help
fund future productions from the companies.
Audience Gratification
Our target audience is
mainly young adult
males, however some
females may be interested.
By using a website like
YouTube to feature and
market our product, it
opens our film up to a
massive potential audience
and makes it easy to
access. The younger
audiences are regulars to
YouTube and we can post
on social media websites
such as Reddit and twitter
to gain popularity among
the target audience.
