of information and communications technology (ICT)
and other web-based technologies to enhance
access of information and improve delivery, efficiency
and effectiveness of service to the public (ICTO).
 An ICT- enabled government allows the citizens easy
access to information and services anytime and
anywhere as well as create transparency and
accountability in government operations.
iGOV or Intergrated Government
- Links up relevant government data centers and
databases. Has a secured government shared network
for deploying government information system; provide a
secured payment system for government transactions;
provide a secured single sign-on government portal for
accessing common government services.
-aims to establish, upgrade and improve government ICT
infrastructure, systems and ICT-related procedures to
allow for integrated government operations.
 e-LGU projects -Jumpstarting Electronic Governance in
Local Government Unit (eLGU) Project – Intends to
revolutionize local governance by making the LGUs
electronically enabled thereby improving the delivery of public
service, promoting transparency in government transactions
and increasing public access to government information
services, among others.
 Contact Center ng Bayan (CCB) is a joint initiative to
improve service delivery and reduce red tape in government
frontline services. Through a single number, a citizen can gain
access to government services and information, report
complaints and ask assistance through various

technology (ICT) sector, particularly on mobile telephone
subscription and usage. The country has around 90%
penetration in terms of mobile usage. However, most
developing countries such as the Philippines are much
behind in terms of adoption and use of broadband.
 The National Broadband Plan would ensure that an
implementable set of strategies and actions, to achieve a
set of indicators on Universal Internet access to give
everyone the chance to reap the advantages of high
speed Internet.
Social media is fast reshaping upcoming May
elections in the Philippines, with civil society making
great use of it through a hugely successful
campaign against publicity-hungry or credit-
grabbing politicians.
 The 2010 election was administered by the Commission
on Elections (COMELEC) in compliance with the
Republic Act No. 9369. Also known as the Amended
Computerization Act of 2007. It was the first national
computerized election in the history of the Philippines.
