About the Interior Designer
Hello, my name is Christine Manalo, a registered Interior Designer and a
member of Philippine Institute of Interior Designers. In 2002, I took up B.S. Interior
Design in Polytechnic University of the Philippines and graduated in 2006. Right
after graduation, I started out as a Fashion and Ramp Model for Mukha Models
International while working as a Designer for Trends and Concepts. In 2008, I
decided to take up and passed the licensing exam for Interior Designer and
received 81.15 ratings. After board exams, I worked with Songsong+Periquet
Architecture and Interior Design Firm that is well known for its outstanding design
creations for hotels, condo-hotel, golf clubs, lobby and all other interior design
projects. In 2010, I entered retail design as a Visual Stylist/ Merchandiser for VMV
Hypoallergenics, a designer for store window display and events.
Design Philosophy
“Design should mediate the environment and not against it”
The start of design process, idea, and concept were based upon
observing actual site or visuals that were presented during meetings. Designs
were based from architecture that was already established and make use of
its features as close as possible to its original form. The interior design should
match the architectural features. The space should have a whole new look,
something fresh from its previous condition but also leaves its distinct
appearance.
