Interview with Alannah, CEO of EnviroTech
Interviewer: Alannah, thank you for speaking with us today. Can you tell us about
EnviroTech's current approach to knowledge management? How is your
organisation capturing and using internal and external information and knowledge?
Alannah: Currently, our approach to knowledge management at EnviroTech is quite
informal. We rely on team members to share their expertise as needed, without a
structured strategy in place for capturing or utilising internal and external information
systematically.
Interviewer: How does EnviroTech manage access to critical information
like passwords?
Alannah: Access to passwords is restricted to a few key staff members who
are responsible for IT security. However, I must admit that this information isn't
documented in a centralised way.
Interviewer: What are your aspirations for a knowledge management strategy,
particularly in relation to phishing - What do you want to happen?
Alannah: I want us to transform the informal knowledge that our staff possess
about phishing into something tangible and accessible. Many of the staff here at
EnviroTech actually know more than they realise about phishing and have come to
recognise typical phishing and vishing scams when they see or hear them. I believe
capturing this knowledge systematically will not only enhance our cybersecurity
defences but also empower future staff members with essential insights.
Interviewer: Have you been exploring any knowledge management software
solutions?
Alannah: Yes, we've been considering two options. One is Confluence, known for
its collaboration and documentation capabilities, which could help us centralise and
share knowledge effectively. The other is Notion - an all-in-one workspace for note-
taking, project management, and collaboration.
Interviewer: Okay great. We can have a look at the costs and benefits of those
and help you make a decision. Thank you so much for your time today.
Alannah: Yes great! And not a worry at all, I hope to hear from you soon about all of
this, it is going to be so beneficial for EnviroTech!
