DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Site inspection of piping fabrication and erection as per detailed drawings.
 Visual inspection of weld joints & preparation of weld documents.
 Be responsible for ensuring by inspection and verification that mechanical / welding works are
performed in accordance with the Project requirements and co-ordination and communication is
maintained with QA.
 To verify correct application of approved weld procedures.
 To monitor welder performance and conduct visual inspections of welds and repairs of welds in
accordance with company procedures and international codes of practice.
 To check, inspect and test incoming welding and construction materials to ensure they meet job
quality specifications.
 To undertake workshop verification of welding machine and electrode baking
 To conduct fit up and dimensional inspections as per Inspection Test plan (ITP).
 To make all the documentation related to welding activities.
 Witness and inspect mechanical and welding works and resulting inspection records as indicated on
the approved Inspection Test Plans and Specifications.
 Preparation of Quality Plan, Welding, Repair Method of Statement and monitoring of approved Quality
Control / Assurance manual in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
 To verify the correct application of Standards and NDE procedures.
 Verifies alignment and dimensions of structure and pipe lines in process and on completion.
 Raises NCR for defective products or workmanship.
 Carry out production weld audits on a regular basis.
 Preparation of Inspection reports & Inspection of fabricated items at vendor premises.
 Preparation and submission of daily site inspection activities.
 Inspect spools just before erection to verify that interior is clear of foreign materials.
 Perform inspection of Fit – up, dimensions, and bolting to ensure it is as per the approved drawings
and standards.
 Inspect flange faces; confirm lubrication of bolts before bolting.
 Involved in various system line checking through P&ID & Isometric drawings.
 Prepare punch list after conducting walkthrough to check for hidden unfinished jobs, distortion of
joints etc..
 Clear the punches during and after Hydro static, pneumatic & leak test of piping system.
 Inspect bolt torquing after checking the gasket and bolt specifications.
 Witness of hydro testing, evaluation of test package contents against drawing requirements to ensure
completeness and accuracy of the system.
 Inspection of Pressure Tests (Hydro/Pneumatic) according to the Equipment class, their test limit and
required pressure
 Witness final pressure tests, including verification that pressure gauges have adequate dial range and
is calibrated.
 Verify that the required test pressure was maintained for the specified length of time with no
acceptable leakage.
 Verify that the testing pressure does not exceed the allowable test pressure of any equipment in the
system.
 Check the manifold certificate & test certificate.
 Inspection of all Materials as per the Standards before start of work.
 Preparation of RFI for Client inspection and assist the Client inspector during this inspection.
 Inspect various types of pipe supports according to design and drawing.
 Prepare and clear punches as part of reinstatement
 Reports daily Inspection activities QA/QC department and maintaining various data records update.
 Verification of closed punch items and conduct walk through for each completed piping system prior
to mechanical acceptance
