medium to allow you to search for that purpose? Imagine
having eight hours a day just doing an exercise that slowly
reveals what you are here in this world to do?
Factors Affecting Job Satisfaction
Communication
Personal Ability
Work Groups
 Supervision
Communication
A properly and effectively designed communication
network provide sample opportunity for
providing/transmitting various information relating
to the job and its environment. Hence, it reduces
potential frustration thereby increasing job
satisfaction.
Personal Ability
Job satisfaction directly concerned with employee's
ability, interest, attitude, skills, knowledge etc. Hence,
highly capable person can perform the job effectively
and efficiently which leads for greater job
satisfaction.
Work Groups
Work group or work team is a collection of two
or more individuals in order to achieve a common
purpose. The nature of such work group affects the
level of job satisfaction. If the individuals are closely
interconnected with each other and directed toward a
common end, the team performance will be
enhanced. As a result, greater job satisfaction takes
place
Supervision
The frequency, nature and style of supervision
also affects job satisfaction. When the

with the team members, this will result in
greater job satisfaction among the
members/subordinates.
Benefits of Job Satisfaction
Job Satisfaction and Employee Turnover
Job Satisfaction and Union Activities
Job Satisfaction and Safety
Job Satisfaction and Employee Turnover
The employee turnover is affected by certain other factors
also, in addition to job satisfaction. Commitment to the
organization is one such factor some employees, however
dissatisfied they arc with their jobs, they cannot imagine
themselves working anywhere else. Another important
factor is the better opportunities of employment. Even if the
people arc highly satisfied with their jobs, they arc willing
to leave if there are better opportunities available anywhere
else. If no other opportunities are available, the employees
will stay where they arc, irrespective of dissatisfaction.
Job Satisfaction and Union Activities
It has been proved that satisfied employees are
generally not interested in unions and they do not
perceive them as necessary. Job satisfaction has
proved to be the major cause of unionization. The
employees join the unions because they feel that
individually they are unable to influence changes
which would eliminate the causes of job
dissatisfaction
Job Satisfaction and Safety:
 When people are dissatisfied with their jobs,
company and supervisors, they are more prone to
experience accidents. An underlying reason for this is
that dissatisfaction lakes one’s attention away from
the task at hand and leads directly to accidents. A
satisfied worker will always be careful and attentive
towards his job, and the chances of accidents will be
less. Here, we are discussing about the avoidable
accidents and not the unavoidable ones.

Work Out Your Strengths and Weaknesses
Work Out Your Strengths and Weaknesses
Assess what you are good at and what you are not so
good at. Once you see your strengths and weaknesses
written down in black and white, you can start to make
decisions on what paths your skills can take you on. Be
brutally honest with yourself or you may find yourself
going down the wrong path or settling for a job that
doesn't utilize your skill set
Don't Stop Learning and Developing
Don't Stop Learning and Developing
However long you have been in a role, there is always
something new to learn. Update yourself on new
technology or perhaps seek out a project group that is
working on something you are interested in. Education
makes people more innovative and productive. See
whether there are any courses you can take to learn new
skills in your field. The more self-improvement you do,
the more personally satisfied you will feel in moving
toward your goals.
Don't Compare Yourself to Others
Don't Compare Yourself to Others
A fail-safe way to decrease your job satisfaction is to start
comparing yourself to others. It's all too easy to look at
someone else at work carrying out a similar role and compare
their success with yours. Once you do this, you will lose focus
on carrying out your own role. Just remember that no two
people are the same, you have your own way of working, and
you will get much more job satisfaction by focusing on how
you do your own job.
Take Regular Breaks
