Water exists on Earth in three main states - liquid, gas and solid ice. Ice forms when liquid water freezes into a solid state, usually when the temperature drops below 0 degrees Celsius. The water cycle describes how water is constantly circulating between the oceans, atmosphere and land through various processes of evaporation, condensation and precipitation.
