- 2. God Teaches Us That We Need To Listen To His Word. Listen = Pay attention and obey! Isaiah 49:1; James 1:21-25 Listen is not just hearing words or sounds. Listening is hearing, perceiving and responding to His commands.
- 3. How Can We Learn To Listen? Get the answers to what God is teaching! By Prayer! Matthew 7:7; James 1:5-7 Psalm 119:18 Open my eyes , that I may see Wondrous things from Your law. Psalm 119:34 Give me understanding , and I shall keep Your law; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
- 4. How Can We Learn To Listen? Get the answers… By Meditating! Psalm 1:2; 119:15,27, 48; 1 Timothy 4:15 Malachi 3:16 Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, And the LORD listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the LORD And who meditate on His name. - 5. How Can We Learn To Listen? Get the answers… By Applying! “Responding to it” Ask questions! Who, What, When, How, etc.? Sometimes the best teacher is experience! Faith and Love are action (something you do). 1 Cor. 13; James 2:14-26
- 6. Limits To Listening? Only on 2 occasions… Joshua 1:8 Day … Psalm 119:97; Acts 17:11 Night … Psalm 119:148; 63:6; 77:6 We need to listen to God always . Prov. 7:24; Deut. 6:24 Deut.11:1 Therefore you shall love the LORD your God, and keep His charge, His statutes, His judgments, and His commandments always . See Matt. 22:37; Jn. 14:15; Rev. 2:10
- 7. Everywhere we go, listen to everything Christ tells you. Matt. 17:5; Col. 3:17 Matt. 28:20 informs us, ISV “ Teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you.” BBE “Teaching them to keep all the rules which I have given you:” Remember to Pray, Meditate, and Apply what God tells you in His Word. Matt. 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”
