This document summarizes the rise of Bengali nationalism and self-determination movement in East Pakistan (modern Bangladesh). It discusses the resistance against cultural domination by West Pakistan, the historic Six Point Movement led by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman demanding greater autonomy, and the Agartala Conspiracy Case in 1968 where Mujibur and others were falsely accused of conspiring for independence. The case and subsequent mass protests led to Mujibur's popularity and the withdrawal of the case, weakening the dictatorship of Ayub Khan, which was a key step towards Bangladesh's liberation in 1971.
