  Background The lesson standardsat Rosetta Stone Learning Center were developed and decided on by teachers rather than management. They have had some adjustments in definition, but the core ideas have remained unchanged over the years. If everything is not 100% clear at first, that is okay. You will learn and see more in upcoming training modules and be able to ask your trainer questions. Let’s jump in--

  Lesson Standards ● CommunicativeGoal(s) ○ The lesson has clear goals, and the goals are achieved ● Activities ○ The teacher uses appropriate activities to achieve the goal(s) ● Language Grading ○ The teacher adjusts their language appropriately for the student ● Teacher Talking Time (TTT) ○ The student talking time to teacher talking time ratio is appropriate, ideally greater than 1:1 ● Student-Centered Interaction ○ There is student-centered interaction throughout the lesson ● Time Management ○ The lesson started and ended on time, and activities were timed appropriately ● Corrective Technique ○ The teacher offers an appropriate number of corrections in a well-timed and supportive manner that creates a balance between fluency and accuracy. ● Attitude ○ The teacher is positive, encouraging, and professional ● Homework ○ Assigned, related to the lesson, appropriate for the student, and checkable by the next teacher
