THE LAWMAN And The ANCIENT PREACHER. Support Cast In The Greatest Story Ever Told LUKE 9:28- 36
The Transfiguration 9:28 Now about eight days after these sayings, Jesus took with him Peter, John, and James, and went up the mountain to pray. 9:29 As he was praying, the appearance of his face was transformed, and his clothes became very bright, a brilliant white. 9:30 Then two men, Moses and Elijah, began talking with him. 9:31 They appeared in glorious splendor and spoke about his departure that he was about to carry out at Jerusalem. 9:32 Now Peter and those with him were quite sleepy, but as they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. 9:33 Then as the men were starting to leave, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us make three shelters, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah” – not knowing what he was saying. 9:34 As he was saying this, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 9:35 Then a voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him!” 9:36 After the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. So they kept silent and told no one at that time anything of what they had seen. NET Bible® ©1996-2006 by Biblical Studies Press, L.L.C. www.bible.org All rights reserved. LUKE 9:28- 36 (NET Bible)

It Was A Pyrotechnic (Sort Of) Display Like Nothing You Have Ever Seen Jesus was plugged into the father, in prayer. Amazing, startling…his whole being became as bright as a flash of lightening! And who should appear but…Moses! Elijah! Amazing, Startling. Suddenly There. The Magnificent Three!
What A Threesome. The Stars Of The Bible -- In Person! Moses, the great Law Man. “For the Law was given through Moses…” --John 1:17 Elijah, called people of his day (850 BC) to a renewed worship of God, and God alone. --1&2 Kings Jesus, Messiah What A Threesome …The Gate Keepers
Jesus Taught Was The Fulfillment Of The Law And The Prophets --Matthew 5:17 The Law of Moses had a shelf life of only 1500 years…it was not forever. Jesus is God’s final word to us. --Hebrews 1:1-2 Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house, but Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. --Hebrews 3:6 Old Testament Lawman Moses
Elijah’s Place In Hebrew History Was That Of A Dynamic And Effective Prophet There was that great story of him going toe to toe with King Ahab! --I Kings 17 And how about the show down at Mount Carmel with the prophets of Baal? --I Kings 18 There was always the understanding that he’d re-appear in real life. Old Testament Show Down Cowboy Elijah
In The Transfiguration God Left No Doubt Who Was The ‘Last Man Standing’ God’s voice spoke out of the cloud: “This is my Son, whom I have chosen, listen to Him.” It is reminiscent of God’s declaration at the baptism of Jesus: “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” The message is clear…and serious: No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. --I John2:23 Last Man Standing
I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. I trust him as my Lord and Savior. Confession

The Main Story Is The Jesus Story The Law paved the way for the Gospel --Hebrews 10:1 The Prophets were all pointing to Calvary The story we tell must be true to that Old, Old Story --Galatians 1:8- 9 Law And The Prophets, The Tracks To Christ
Can I say ‘Amen’ to Paul’s policy: I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. I Corinthians 2:2 Are these still matters ‘of first importance’, that: Christ died for our sin…was buried…and was raised on the third day? I Corinthians 15:3, 4 My Loyalty Is Not To A Denomination, A Favorite Preacher Or Popular Teacher. I Am Called To Be The Servant Of Jesus --That Means He Is Lord! Amen to Jesus The Only Trail
My message to friends is not about a church, a doctrine or a formalized view of religion…the Good News is still the story of Jesus. All else fades while Jesus still stands as a blazing light on the landscape of life and history. My Loyalty Is Not To A Denomination, A Favorite Preacher Or Popular Teacher. I Am Called To Be The Servant Of Jesus --That Means He Is Lord! On Christ the Solid Rock
