The boyfriends house
This is the boys bedroom, where all of
the scenes from his house will be filmed.
We liked the idea of using this room for
the scene gets really mad and starts
throwing things around as the room as it
is quite compact, and full of things that
the boy would clearly care about,
therefore suggesting to the audience that
this was an impulsive act and he has lost
all care for what he has. Using an actual
boys bedroom really helps with the props
we used, as it already looks like a lived in
room, and makes the scene more
realistic, as they would see the room as
relatable.
The school
These are the three main areas of the school
that we will be showing in our media production, they
are the 16+ area, the science classroom and the
corridor. We wanted to use the 16+ area as it was a
really public space, and it will show the poor state of
mind the boyfriend was in and how little he cares about
his own pride when trying to get answers out of his ex.
We used the corridor as we felt it would be good to
show the frantic search of him looking for the guy who
has been seeing his girlfriend, and when he does finally
find him in a science class we felt the room would be
good as the fight would have to be very controlled due
to the lack of space, and we wouldn't have to move
much around, allowing us to get good camera angles of
what happens.
The girlfriends house
This is the girls bedroom, and most of the
scenes that require the girl will be filmed in
here. Again we think this room works well
because it is an actual girls bedroom, and has
the looks of a room that someone spends a lot
of time in. The area pictured at the bottom will
be used in the scenes where the girl is pacing
the floor, trying to decide wether to text the
boyfriend about the breakup, we like this space
because it will be good for getting different
camera angles, and show movement in the
shot by using tracking shots of her pacing, the
bed however allows for us to film her sitting or
lying, meaning that we can get different levels,
keeping the shots fluid and moving.
The shops
This is the area we will use in the final scene to show the boy and girl walking past
each other way after the break up has happened. We wanted an open space that
was away from anywhere else we had filmed for our media piece. We chose to do
this because if we filmed in the school then it may look as though it was a memory
of the past, and wouldn't show what we want, which is that he has learnt to move
on from the pain of the break up. We wanted it to be a busy area rather than any
street to show that despite her always standing out in the crowd to him, she is
becoming one of the public, and she isn't the only thing he sees in a crowd
anymore.
The park
This is the park that we are using for
the scene with the big group where the
boy starts chatting up an un willing
friend. We wanted to use this park
because it had a shelter that we could
show them all sitting in, and would
connote that they meet here a lot and
that this is the area where the group
hang out. We liked the idea of using the
shelter because we could still film if it
was raining as it was covered, the rain
may be good for connoting the
miserable atmosphere and the boys
unhappiness in himself over what hes
doing.
