JV Long, Cameron University, had the top offensive week for the Aggies in their two wins averaging 17.5
points. The red-shirt freshman caught fire in the final minutes of the Aggies 80-79 upset over No. 11 Angelo
State. Long scored eight points with a pair of treys in the final 4:30 minutes to rally the Aggies back from 12
points down to win. Against the Rams, Long scored 18 points and had five rebounds, with two assists. On
Saturday, Long was clutch again in the final four minutes for the Aggies with seven points. Long iced the game
for Cameron with five made shots at the free-throw line to push them to the win. Overall, he would finish with
a perfect 9-for-9 at the line with five assists, and 17 points for the Aggies.
Quay King, Angelo State University, led the Rams offense this week playing an integral part in this week’s top
25 match up with Midwestern State. Against the No.4 ranked Mustangs he dropped in a season high 21 points
going 5-6 from the arc, 7-10 from the field and 2-4 from the charity line. The Atlanta native also added eight
total boards, an assist and a steal for the night. Earlier in the week he tallied nine points with two boards, an

down multiple threes in 12 of the 17 games he has played in.
Lawrence Domingo, Eastern New Mexico University, already with four double-doubles on the season,
Domingo almost averaged a one over the week, falling just one rebound short in both contests. The senior
continued to lead his team on the defensive glass all week as well as holding one of the LSC’s tops corers to
single digits. Domingo’s defensive effort against Bryant Crowder (5th in LSC Conference Game Scoring) held the
big man to only eight points, allowing the Greyhounds to stop any perimeter shooting and holding Commerce
to a 0-13 night from the three-point line.
Ryan Quaid, West Texas A&M University, had another big week for West Texas A&M as the freshman
averaged 10.0 points per game while grabbing 6.5 boards per contest against two of the top offensive teams in
the country as WT topped Texas A&M-Commerce and No. 10 Tarleton State to move to 15-7. The Fort Collins,
Colorado native went 5-of-16 (31.3%) from the floor including 10-of-13 (76.9%) from the free throw line while

A&M. Smith had five blocks for the week and also averaged eight points and five rebounds per game.

guard out of Miami, Florida led the team in the steals department against both Cameron and Midwestern
State. He has recorded seven multiple steal games this season to aid ASU’s defensive efforts His four steal
performance against MSU helped the Rams hold off one of the top offenses in the conference. He also added
four boards and six points to the mix for that game. Against Cameron he recorded a team leading two steals

WOMEN’S NOTES (Submitted by LSC
SID’s)
Angelo State
2-1 last week.
Cameron
The Cameron women picked up a pair of wins on
the week after halting a three game Angelo State
streak with an 87-83 overtime victory on Wednesday
and followed up with a 67-62 win over Texas A&M-
Kingsville on the road Saturday. The Aggies sank 13
at the three-point line against ASU with Brandi Leal
draining seven to tie her own three-point record.
Dayla Threatt had 21 points and 12 boards for her
first career double-double. Cameron was able to hold
off TAMUK on Saturday despite not hitting a bucket
from the field for the final 9:30 minutes. The squad
survived a late turnover with 11 seconds left, and
the Javelinas being fouled during a three pointer but
missed all three shots at the line. CU held strong with
Leal only missing two shots all night, and she landed
all four attempts at the arc to lead the Aggies with
21 points. Senior DJ Vallier came up big with a career
high 14 rebounds to go with three blocks.
Eastern New Mexico
The Eastern New Mexico University women’s
basketball team showed resilience last week, and
came from double-digit deficits against a pair of Lone
Star Conference opponents. Tarleton State took an
early 10-0 lead on Wednesday, before the Hounds
struck for their first lead of the game, 34-32, midway
through the third quarter on a Kassandra Harris layup.
The TexAnns also held a seven-point advantage with
just over four minutes in the game, but Sarah Stinnett
scored seven straight points to pull even. Tarleton
State held on for the win, but the Hounds had built
momentum for their Saturday game against Texas
A&M-Commerce. The Lions built a 12-point lead,
but a dominant second half by Eastern led to a 73-
65 win. Eastern limited A&M-Commerce to just three
field goals in the third quarter and a .281 shooting
percentage in the second half. This Saturday, ENMU
will visit West Texas A&M.
Midwestern State
Midwestern State featured several top performers
in a split in Lone Star Conference action last week
with a 55-44 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville and an

both senior forward Katie Brown and junior forward
Jennifer Sissel recorded double-doubles as the
Mustangs won their third-straight game inside D.L.

together a late first quarter run to pull away from
the Mustangs for good. Sophomore guards Whitney
Taylor and Krishawn Crockett both finished with
career highs on the afternoon with Taylor notching
21 points and Crockett adding 20 as the Mustangs
had multiple players with 20-plus points for the first
time this season. Taylor reached double figures for
the sixth-straight game, scoring 11 of her points in
the first 5:27 of the game after hitting 3-of-3 from
behind the arc. Midwestern State continues LSC play
this weekend with 4 p.m. contests against Cameron
and Texas Woman’s at Ligon Coliseum.
Tarleton State
Tarleton went 1-1 last week with a win over Eastern
New Mexico and an overtime loss to No. 8 West Texas
A&M in Canyon. The TexAnns will host Texas A&M-
Commerce Saturday in Stephenville.?
Texas A&M-Commerce
The Lions had a tough week going 0-2 after a near
upset against WT fell short 67-69. After that loss, the
Lions traveled to Eastern New Mexico where they
struggled in the second half to close the game, and
eventually loss 65-73, bringing their overall record to
9-9 and their LSC record to 3-4. The Lions will play
their final non-conference game this season against
Arlington Baptist at home on Tuesday, January
26. Following that game, the Lions will travel to
Stephenville, Texas to take on Tarleton State on
Saturday, January 30 to close out the first month of
2016.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
0-3 last week.
Texas Woman’s
TWU is 16-4 on the season and 6-2 in the Lone Star
Conference after splitting the two games last week.
The Pioneers defeated Texas A&M-Kingsville, 57-40,
on Thursday before falling at Angelo State, 81-78,
on Sunday. Senior Danielle Westerfield came off the
bench and recorded a near double-double against
TAMUK with eight points and a team-high nine
rebounds. Freshman Kara Mitchell led the Pioneers
with 14 points on 6-for-6 shooting. Against ASU six
players scored seven or more points led by junior
Kenesha Saygo with 14. For the week junior Deja

West Texas A&M
The eighth-ranked West Texas A&M Lady Buff
women’s basketball team battled back from halftime
deficits for two huge wins this week...WT was down
by a season-high 14 points and used an 18-2 run and
then an 8-0 run to end the game in a 69-67 win at
Texas A&M-Commerce...Senior Zantaya Davis scored
a turnaround jumper with 1.4 seconds left for the
game winner...Then on Saturday, the Lady Buffs
were down by as many as 11 and keyed a second
half and overtime comeback for a 78-73 win over
Tarleton State to improve to 18-1 on the year and a
league best 7-1 in Lone Star Conference play...The
Lady Buffs shot .483 for the week, but the opposition
uncharacteristically shot .437 as WT’s string of holding
teams to under 40 percent shooting was snapped at
Texas A&M-Commerce as the Lady Buffs had not let
an opponent shoot over 40 percent to that point this
season (17 games)...WT really struggled from the
free throw line going just 22 of 37 (.595) and was
outrebounded for the first weekend of the season
(68-67)...Four Lady Buffs averaged double figures led
by senior Michaela Neuhaus with 16.0 points as she
helped key each comeback...Davis averaged a team-
high 8.5 rebounds per game, along with four blocks
and four steals...She had a career-best 13 rebounds
against Tarleton State...Saturday’s win marked the
first overtime game since the semifinals of the Lone
Star Conference Championship in 2014.

CU held strong with Leal only missing two shots all night, and she landed all four attempts at the arc to lead the Aggies with 21 points. Senior DJ Vallier came up big with a career high 14 rebounds to go with three blocks. The TexAnns also held a seven-point advantage with just over four minutes in the game, but Sarah Stinnett scored seven straight points to pull even.
