These questions were asked so that I got an idea of who would be more likely to read the music
magazine that I am going to create, so that I can aim it more towards them and get a better
understanding of what they look for. As you can see the majority of people who answered this
questionnaire are 16-20 years old. The type of genre that they read about isn’t specified as it seems
that they all have different preferences, however the favorite was R&B. This could suggest that not
everyone reads about the mainstream music and each genre of music has its own popularity.
From this questions I am able to
establish that the main appeal on
the front cover is the cover story,
closely followed by the main image.
This highlights that I need to take
time and consideration in creating
an interesting cover story that will
grab readers attention and make
sure that the main image is eye
catching and clear to viewers to
make they more likely to buy the
magazine. The second graph also
points out that prizes and
competitions don’t appeal to
everyone, however they may be
worth having to appeal to those
who have said it influences them.
The colour that attracted the
most readers from this question
was red, I plan to incorporate this
in my magazine as from this
questionnaire it has been proven
popular. Furthermore, I plan to
stick to a colour scheme
throughout the magazine so I
must choose a colour that is
popular. However, I would also
need to consider which colour
work well with my chosen genre
of music.
Finally , from this question I can
get an idea of how much people
would be willing to pay for a
music magazine, especially based
on my target audience, them
being between 16-20 years old.
This should help me to be able to
price my magazine realistically.
