COLOUR: HOW IS COLOUR USED AS FILM
LANGUAGE
Dark colours are used in
these example s to give
the audience meaning of
the ‘darkness’ or ‘evil’ from
the character types within
the films.
In this example, the
character is wearing dark
clothing. His character in the
film Harry potter, is evil
which is represented by the
dark coloured clothing.
The background of the
scene has a a dark
atmosphere and the colour
could be cconnotating a
sense of theme and
atmosphere to the audience.
In this picture we can see the
character is dressed in dark coloured
clothing which gives the audience a
sense of the nature of the character.
This is a key example of how colour
is used a film language, to give the
audience meaning through imagery.
is used within film to give the audience a sense of atmosphere and theme.
Within this shot, high key lighting is used
and the colour is bright to help the
audience focus on the central character
more. Colour is used to highlight the
character and draw in the audiences
attention
COSTUME:HOW IS COSTUME USED AS
FILM LANGUAGE
The costumes that the characters wearing are how is the
person.
In this example, superman
is wearing clothes very
different, for example the
colours of the shirt its not
the same as the layer.
There are colours colourful
and its meaning that the
character is good on the
film and the audience can
see it.
In this example the
audience can see
the woman and the
man are wearing a
suit. the audience
can see that when
a person who wear
a suit its a elegant
person.
PROPS
props are used frequently to give the a love movies, there are
elements that can never fail, they are always in the movies of
love and characterised by out of love in the movies. There
are many elements but the most common, for example in a
date which can not fail is a table with candles with things very
well placed and pretty. Another thing that I think can not fail
are the rose petals. Rose petals can be in many places such
as on the table or floor. when the audience can see this
elements in the films, they know that this is a romantic scene
and its very important because the audience understand the
film.
LOCATION:
When we are talking about the location is
concerned if you are in a real or fictional stage.
For example for example we
can see that the image on the
left is a movie set in a fictional
stage since the image is not
real but is fiction. There are
many elements that can be
seen in these images because
it is obvious that it is not real
image.
Instead in this picture we can
see two real people in a real
environment and something that
you can find on the street as it is
real.
BLOCKING AND
PERFORMANCE:
Blocking: Refers to the positioning
and movement of actors within the
frame, both relation to each other
and in relation to the camera. We
can see how the actors to be afraid
and are afraid not move the site
because when you are afraid you do
not know exactly what to do and you
stay in the place where you were just
in case something happened.
Performance: When we are talking about performance is referring to the way the
characters act for example describing his expression, gestures that make ... In this
case the actors make an expression as if frightened or surprised. This can be
known through gestures such as open mouth or eyes wide.
LIGHTING: HOW IS LIGHTING
BEING USED TO CREATE MOOD IN
THE FOLLOWING EXAMPLES?
In the two photographs we can see the
same scene to policemen, but not exactly
the same as what differentiates a feature
and is the light in which the scene is
formed. In the photo on the left we can see
how there is less light, while in the right one
there is more light and you can see the
scene better.
This arrangement of lighting within the frame - the key
light, the fill light, and backlight all provide illumination
of the scene and, as a result, can guide the audience
to how the scene should be read. If the light is from
behind the subject and the subject is brightly lit then
the audiences attention are immediately drawn to that
subject. Lighting is used to match the sense of
atmosphere the director is trying to guide the
audience to feel.
