RESEARCH
One of the strengths of my research was being able to
watch different music videos because it helped me see
that I could edit my music video in many different ways
and make it better by adding effects etc.
One of the weaknesses of my research was that it took
me quite a while to fully finish it because I kept switching
ideas so it took me quite a while to actually complete and
I feel that the planning/research wasn’t that effective and
wouldn’t use it again if I didn’t have to.
PLANNING
The strengths of my planning was when I screenshotting
different camera angles and making a shot list for my
music video. This helped because it was easier for me to
produce my product and I knew how I wanted certain
scenes to look like with different backgrounds and
lightings.
The weakness of my planning was my storyboard
because I didn’t know if I would stick to these photos or
if I would change it up so it was quite hard to make this.
TIME MANAGEMENT
I think that leading up to editing my video I didn’t
manage time very well because I was stuck on what to do
and didn’t really have one idea that I was confident with
but up until I had filmed it I think I managed to edit it the
best I could and within the time that was set. I also did
finish it at home so I could put more effort and
concentrate on it more. If I had additional time I probably
would have filmed extra clips because when I was editing
I realised that there was some bits that I didn’t like so I
would have filmed a couple more of those clips if I had
more time.
TECHNICAL QUALITIES -
CAMERA
Low Light Performance-
lowest light that a camera
can capture while retaining
acceptable image quality.
(Both screenshots show)
Low Angle Shot- where the
subject is shown from below,
giving the impression of
being more powerful.
(Both screenshots show)
TECHNICAL QUALITIES –
EDITING/POST
Digital Effects/Editing-
transitions and fades also help
with the smooth running of any
type of video and again help
make a narrative or amplified
video more intriguing.
(Both screenshots show)
Colour Correction- it goes
from balancing the image to
dialing in specific looks,
creating artistic styles to the
frames.
(Both screenshots show)
AESTHETIC QUALITIES
I think my work looks good and the clips I got fit very well with the
vibe of my song.
I think this was creative
because instead of just having
it in either black and white or
full colour its just got a
vibrant colour standing out.
i would improve this part
of my music video as you
can see here, pat of the
persons head has been
chopped off so I would
make sure that next time
nothing has been cut off
and perfectly in shot.
I also think this was a
quite creative edit
that I did, where I put
the background
scene and combine it
into the title, and I
haven’t seen it
anywhere else.
AUDIENCE APPEAL
I think my product appealed to my
target audience because I included
popular and trending clothing for
the main character to wear.
PEER
FEEDBACK
FEEDBACK 1
What did you like about the product?
 I liked the range of angles that was used in the video, it avoids giving
the video a feeling of receptiveness and keeps my attention
throughout the whole video.
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
 I think the music video could be improved if the model changed
clothes throughout the video, this would help change up the music
video and keep the viewers more engaged.
FEEDBACK 2
What did you like about the product?
 I like the subtle editing on the video that makes it look a lot more
professionally edited, for example the all black and white shot with
the coat edited.
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
 I think the music video could be improved if there was a larger range
of background scenery when singing, it all feels similar.
FEEDBACK 3
What did you like about the product?
 I liked the scenery shots scattered throughout the video, it gives the
video a change of scenery and is a good thing to watch while there is
no music, during the intro and outro especially.
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
 I think the video could be improved if the shots were more steady, for
example there is a shot where the head of the model is not in the
video, so with a steadier shot that could be fixed.
PEER FEEDBACK SUMMARY
What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
 I agree with the steady shots, where some of the models head had
been cut off and I should have retaken the clip or got a better angle
so you can see his whole face.
What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
 I don’t agree with when someone said that the model should have
changed clothes throughout because there was already a few
different locations but if I changed his clothes I feel like I would have
had to also add clips with daylight so that it wouldn’t look too odd
with a different outfit but the same location/time.
PEER FEEDBACK SUMMARY
 I would change some of the angles to make sure you can see the
persons full face and not have anything cut off so I will watch the
clips after they have been shot and if I need to film again I will.
