- 1. MY IDEAS FORTHE RECORD OUTCOME
- 2. IDEA 1 Myfirst idea was about telling a story using lighting and backgrounds and then recording it using a combination of different styles of photography and a video camera to show the actual play
- 3. IDEA 1- researchFirst I looked at what story we could tell. For the first idea I found the traditional Indian story that is about a woman called Savitri. This story ultimately is about a woman's devotion to her husband whom she married even though she knew he was going to die shortly after. I think that this story doesn't need to be retold because it is relevant to modern day as it deals with belief and perseverance, and it can be interpreted easily. For example she asks for her father in laws sight to be returned and his kingdom restore, we could change this to his understanding and influence as the modern day younger generations tend to not listen to the older generations and the elders are not in tune with the developing society so they cannot see.

- 5. IDEA 1- researchAs we cant have set changes and stuff I think set and lighting would be key in presenting this story. I was thinking something like these perhaps in 2 or three main colours to give the stage some depth and make it interesting to watch it would all be performed In the same space. Then different lighting can the be included to show change of scene and make it more dramatic. For example at the point where her husband dies it can change to blue to show her despair but as she follows this becomes tinged with a darker blue to show her perseverance and then a golden yellow to show her joy when she is reunited with her husband.

- 7. I think thisidea would have to have the maximum amount of time available and it would need 5 characters maximum less if someone played both parents in different costumes. The other members of the group would be recording using cameras but they could also play the characters in intervals if everyone has to act. I think this could be a really good idea but it would involve a lot of work from everyone with rehearsals, and figuring out lighting, background and costumes. And even roles as I think a lot of people may be a bit apprehensive initially.
- 8. IDEA 2 Themain point of this idea was the use of dance, in particular using dance to express something or tell a story. Lighting could be involved to match the mood or emotion but mostly the focus will be the dance moves. This will be recorded using photography and a number of different angles. I think macro photography in particular may also be useful for this idea as it will provide a dynamic of various shots for the scrap book. Which is how I want to display the images
- 9. IDEA 2- researchEach member of the group would be given and emotion or mood which they would have to make up a dance sequence for
- 10. The length dependson the group members. They also have to choose there own music which can be any style as long as it fits the brief.
- 11. Everyone has achance to perform and take photographs although for each one there will be a main person because we only have one digital SLR camera available

IDEA 2- researchhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Po8hBmUju3I This video in particular symbolises the sort of thing I would be aiming for this to be like, but recorded in photo form. Her ewe can easily tell she is showing different emotions and the lighting in some ways reflects this, for example it is dimmer and smaller when she appears to be sad. This also highlighted that the music choices will also be key when trying to convey the emotion through movement. Obviously we are not trained as she is as ours will not be so technical but we can all move our bodies so this shouldn't be a problem. From this ive leant we could also use props to aid these displays such as a hoop for joy which is what she uses and then these props would also provide interesting dynamics and variety to the shots at different angles.
- 13. IDEA 2- researchThe reason I want to use macro photography in particular along with other shots is because of what it can show. It lets you see things you may not have seen before and when showing the emotions if we took close ups of intensity in the eyes or the tension behind the fabric this would make the scrap book really interesting as it would show things you don't usually see as a viewer.
- 14. IDEA 2- researchWe can also use a number of other shots and combinations. I think mostly we will just do what feels right and looks good.

This idea couldbe good because it gives use the chance to explore movement and photography but it also has disadvantages such as how long it could take to choreograph the dances sequences and record the performance as it may mean that the person doing the emotion has to do the dance several times so we get a load of good variety shots.

- 17. Scrapbooks can beused to record a progression or anything you see fit to record. The are a interesting way to display photographs, bits and pieces ideas and thoughts.
