An advert is a promotion used to sell a product to consumers through various media like newspapers, the internet, television, billboards, and cinema. Mise-en-scene in advertising includes costume, lighting, actors, makeup, and props to present the product and models on camera in an appealing way. The AIDA principle provides that an advertisement should first catch the audience's attention, then maintain their interest by appealing to emotions or weaknesses, stimulate desires and needs, and finally invite the audience to take a specific action.
