My Philosophy
According to Webster Health education is a social science that draws from the biological,
environmental, psychological, physical and medical sciences to promote health and prevent
disease, disability and premature death through education-driven voluntary behavior change
activities. But, it is so much more! Being a health educator is an honor. You have the ability to
take what you have learned and not only apply it to your life, but use it to prevent others from
tragedies. Health education is all about the promotion of health and assisting others with lifestyle
changes.
Changing one’s lifestyle can be a hard task and it takes a special person to get the job
done. It takes perseverance, determination and faith in oneself. You have to be able to see the
bigger picture even when your client may not. Health education is the only field that assist you
before the disparity occurs, which is why I am exceptionally glad to be getting my degree in such
a field. My passion for helping others is apparent in my work and I cannot wait to continue to
grow in this field.
