 Narration means the art of storytelling.
 The purpose of narrative writing is to tell
stories.
Categorized as:
FICTION- which is based on imaginative events
or stories that did not actually happen.
NONFICTION- writing that is based on real
facts.
The Structure of a Narrative Writing
 Major narrative events are most often conveyed
in chronological order, the order in which events
unfold from first to last.
 Stories typically have a beginning, a middle, and
an end, and these events are typically organized
by time.

Transition Words and Phrases for Expressing Time
1. Setting
 The time and location in which the story takes place. Settings can
be very specific, but can also be more broad and descriptive.
 A good, well-established setting creates an intended mood and
provides the backdrop and environment for your story.

 The people and the subjects of the story.
Protagonist - the hero or heroine
Antagonist - character who opposes the protagonist
