Kia Ora and welcome to week 6 – three weeks remaining in the term (again, time is flying
by!).
Report on Students Progress:
Staff are busy working on end of year written reports. These will be handed out during our
end of year sharing time, where students share their art folder and work for the term. All
parents are welcome to visit their child’s classroom on December 4th, 2:15 to 2:45pm.
Staffing:
At the end of this year we are sorry to have two staff members leaving us, Mrs Watt who is
off to develop her career at another school and Miss Butson who is off to Australia to live.
We also have Mrs Warnock who will be on maternity leave for 2015. The Board and Staff
wish all three the very best for their future.
We are currently in the process of employing new staff – one of which is Miss Anita Cun-ningham
who will be in Awarua Room with years one and two. Miss Cunningham has a pri-mary
and early childhood background and we welcome her to the Tisbury Team.
The two remaining positions will be appointed by the end of the school year and we will
make sure you are advised as soon as possible of who they are.
EOTC Week:
The board have asked me to clarify the cost of this week – as there was some confusion
over a change in the activities. We did advertise that we were going to have a shared ship-wreck
lunch – however, this did not happen. The cost of this was deducted from the
amount each child was charged for the week’s activities in Years 1 to 5. If you have any
queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
End Of Year Assembly:
Details of this event are in the process of being finalized by staff and will be put on the blog
page next week. We are currently looking for a wet weather alternative – however, we re-main
optimistic that the sun will shine and we will have it at school outside (fingers crossed
big time!!). But do diary Wednesday, December 10th 11:45 for Kapa Haka Presentation
and 1:30 for End of Year Assembly.
Community Reporting: Science, Social Science and Technology:
At last nights board meeting, data was presented to the Board on student progress and
achievement overtime within the above learning areas. Please see the attached summary
of the outcomes. The full report is available at the school’s office for perusal. If you would
like to discuss the outcomes, please contact me.
The last newsletter for the year will be the next one, so until then
