NEXT GENERATION COMPUTER
What is a  computer ?   A programmable, electronic device that accepts data, performs operations on that data, presents the result, and can store the data or results as needed  Four primary operations of a  computer :  Input – entering data into the  computer   Processing – performing operations on the data  Output – presenting the results  Storage – saving data, programs, or output for future use
HISTORY   DIVIDED INTO FIVE GENERATIONS -  Computers using vacuum tubes were called the  first generation . -  Transistors and diodes, the  second generation -  IC’s were the  third generation . Microprocessors, the  fourth generation . The use of parallel processing and superconductors ie, artificial intelligence,  fifth generation  or next generation computer.
Next  generation computer The goal is to develop a device that can respond to natural language input and capable of learning and self organization.  Will be much smaller and faster than 4 th  generation. Greatly increased data storage capability. Will most likely have light, easily transportable display capabilities.
Quantum Computing In a classical (or conventional) computer, information is stored as bits in a quantum computer, it is stored as qubits. The basic principle of quantum computation is that the quantum properties can be used to represent and structure data, and that quantum mechanisms can be devised and built to perform operations with this data. A bit is a simple unit of information that is represented by a "1" or a "0" in a conventional electronic computer. A qubit can also represent a "1" or a "0" but crucially can be both at the same time - known as a superposition. This helps to gain speed and efficiency of computing.

Future benefits of Quantum computing Cryptography  :breaking any kind of current encryption that takes almost centuries on existing computers, may just take a few years on quantum computer. Artificial Intelligence  :perform a large amount of operations in a very short period of time. Other Benefits : High performance will allow us in development of complex compression algorithms, voice and image recognition, molecular simulations, true randomness and quantum communication. Quantum computers make communication more secure.
Nanotechnology  A field of science whose goal is to control individual atoms and molecules to create computer chips and other devices that are thousands of times smaller than current technologies permit. Nanocomputer can be electronic (where nanolithography is used to create microscopic circuits), biochemical or organic (such as DNA computers), or quantum (such as quantum computers)
 
Uses of Nanotechnology New materials with superior strength, electrical conductivity, and heat resistance.  Microscopic probes that can be injected into the body for chemical analysis, or even repair (neuron cell repair for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s patients).  Direct, precisely controlled, administration of medicines.  Nanoscale transistors that could be integrated on a single chip by the trillions.  Detection of food-borne pathogens, or chemical agents in the air.  Artificial organs.  Self-assembling electronic devices.  Water purification.  Pollution monitoring.
