Norman kings
In 1066, King Edward the Confessor of England died without an heir, leaving the kingdom without a clear successor. Two candidates emerged: Harold Godwinson, the late king's brother-in-law, who claimed Edward named him king on his deathbed; and William, Duke of Normandy, who asserted Edward had promised him the throne and that Harold had sworn to support his claim. This led to conflict over the vacant English throne.

- 5. arold Godwinson, Earlof Wessex was the late king’s brother-in -law. Harold Claimed that he had been given the crown on Edward’s death bed. He was an experienced warrior and had been earl of Wessex for many years. But he was believed to have murdered Edward’s brother.

- 10. illiam Rufus ,thesecond son of William I, inhereted the throne of England after his father’s death. He was a bad ruler , and he wasted the money of treasure. His most important problem was with the archbishop of Canterbury and because of this he was unsuccessful.

- 12. enry II tookthe throne by force , William Rufus died in a hunting accident and as his brother Robert was in the Crusade, He went to Westminister where he was crowned Kig of England. However he was not only conquered England but also Normandy by defeating Robert.
