Module No. IV:Analysis and response
of control system –hrs 08
• IV.1) Open and closed loop systems, Transfer
function modeling (Electrical only), Block
diagram reduction techniques and Signal flow
graph.
• IV.2) Dynamic Response: Standard test
signals, transient and steady state behavior
of first and second order systems, steady
state errors in feedback control systems and
their types.
3.
• Time responseanalysis of control system:
– It means to see the variation of output with
respect to time
– The complete base of stability analysis, system
accuracy & complete evaluation lies in the time
response analysis
– Time response analysis :
• Steady state analysis
• Transients response
4.
• Definitions:-
• Timeresponse: the response given by the system which is
function of time, to the applied Input is called time response
of control system
• Transient Response:
– the output variation during the time, it takes to achieve its final
value is called as Transient Response.
– The time required to achieve the final value is called transient
period
– This can also be defined as that part of time response which decays
to zero after some time as system output reaches to its final value.
– The Transient Response may be exponential or oscillatory in nature
•
5.
• Steady stateresponse:
– It is that part of time response which remains after
complete transient response vanishes from the
system output.
– It is also be define as response of the system as
time approaches infinity from the time at which
Transient Response completely dies out.
– The Steady state response indicates the accuracy
of the system.
6.
The difference betweenthe desired output and the
actual output of the system is called steady state error
which is denoted as ess
