  Three levels ofconvergence:   Networks: decreasing of operating costs due to the connection transfer to a single transport IP platform   Services: provides the ability to deploy highly profitable future generation services: audio and video conferencing, voice, high speed data exchange, etc.   Application: there is a need in the technology, that provides intelligent means of communications, and that solves existing problems in the implementation of multimedia services. This technology is the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) - 3GPP. This standardized architecture of NGN networks implements voice and data transfer in a single network. It can be considered as a single unifying technology that promotes the development of new applications and significantly reduce costs.

The deployment or development of new converged services on IMS platform is conducted much easier!
