  In this imageI gave the images a stroke around the edges. I like this effect because it makes each small in the big image look like they are piled on top of each other. It gives it a look of Polaroid's together. In three of the small images I changed the hue and saturation to give it the effect of it looking pinky and darker. This is really effective because it made the image a lot more interesting and it creates a very clear contrast between images. In this image I really like the different layering. I think this is a really important aspect to the image. It has made the buildings look a lot more interesting. The layering gives the picture depth and almost look 3D I think this is really effective to my image. In this image I rotated some of the small image in post production. The rotation of the image gives it a more casual look. I like this casual look because It reflects the Urban Environment theme. I have taken inspiration with this photomontage from David Hockey. He created photomontage images and made them look like loads of small images created one. With this technique I used the automate tool on Photoshop to create this style. This incorporated all the images together and made them into this one image. I have played around with the smaller images to create the different layering and the trippy effect of the ice- cream van On the image I dislike how the different panels of smaller images are not that small. If I was to go back to when I took the images I would take a lot more smaller ones. This would look a lot more like a collage when I put them together rather than bigger smaller images to make the big image. I think tat smaller images taken would have looked a lot more effective for a photomontage image.

Ensure you talk critically (compare, contrast, assess) about your work. You should reference your influences and assess how your work compares. With this piece of work I got influence from David Hockneys photomontage photography. I took smaller images and put them together to create a big image. What I intended to do with this piece of photography is create different contrasts within the image. I did this buy changing the hue and saturation to create a pink/duller contrast within each smaller image. This is really effective because it creates more effect to the collage. Comparing the image with strokes and without the strokes, the strokes give the image a framing which I liked about using them. It makes each small image look like a polaroid picture. Comparing this without the strokes the picture lacked definition. I really liked the ideas that I came up with. Comparing from when I first created the photomontage it was not that interesting. Then I tweaked each image to create the contrasted look. My ideas have work well together. I took some of the pictures on an angle which is demonstrated through my work as some of the smaller images are tilted. This idea turned out well as it brings creativity to my work. The only idea that I feel has not gone as well as it could of done is my actually size of the small images. When taking the images to start off with I would go back and take a lot smaller images of my subject. This is because when I put them into a photomontage they would look a lot more like a photomontage. My the images in my image at the moment are not as small and think this ruins the effect of a photomontage.

  5 Consider the aestheticqualities of your work. How does it look? What do you like about it? What are the strongest and weakest elements from an aesthetic point of view? I have strong aesthetic qualities in this pieces of work. I have made this piece of work look really creative by adding different effects to each smaller image. What I like most about the look of this is the contrasting difference between each smaller image. I like the look of the random smaller images that I have changed the hue and saturation. I think this is a really crucial look of my photography as it makes it look very creative and gives it eye catching look. Another strongest part of the look of my work is the strokes. The strokes defines each individual image. I really like this look on my work because it gives the images a look of a Polaroid picture. It looks like someone has took a lot of Polaroid pictures and put them together to create a collage. One of the weaknesses to my work is how perfect it looks. I say this because I feel a photomontage should look a lot more chaotic due to there being a lot of images. This is one of the weakest points to this piece of work. I would like to create it so it looked a lot unmatched and scrambled. I think this would have given it a stronger photomontage look.

The technical qualities of my work were mostly done on Photoshop. I used the automate tool then the reposition button and I took the blending off. Then I uploaded all the images I wanted in the image and then clicked continue. This automatically created the photomontage for me. Then using Photoshop I used the move tool to move round some of the images to create a less perfect image. My strongest technical qualities was the edit on Photoshop. I used the hue and saturation tool and the stroke tool. I found this technical quality easiest to use. Which created the strongest look. What technical quality could be developed further in my work is the camera using skills. I could developed this quality further to gain better images for my work. When using the camera I used a low aperture. This was so the images were clear. I then used the zoom so I was able to zoom into the scenery to take smaller images. I also adjusted the focus. I had the focus on manual this was so I could control it myself. I wanted some of the images to be out of focus to create some interesting and artistic elements to my work. I wanted the exposure to be in the middle so it wasn’t really bright or wasn’t really dark.
