Editor's Notes

  • #2 Introduction of Willem
  • #3 OE Global members are organizations involved in developing, implementing and supporting open education. They come from all over the world and from across all education sectors We have more than 200 members
  • #7 Open Education is part of a tree of openness: Some to highlight OpenGLAM: Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums focused on sharing cultural heritage OpenScience: to open up academic research. Not only the results (publications), but also the process OpenData Open Education is part of a bigger movement or even a cultural change to open our doors and windows to the community and to each other. Isn’t that our moral obligation as public university?
  • #8 The programme consists of five interrelated projects: Open Education, Open Access, Open Publishing Platform, FAIR Data, and FAIR Software. The projects are aimed at creating and disseminating various types of resources for the benefit of TU Delft researchers, teachers and students, as well as the general public. They will range from educational materials and software to a publishing platform. All outputs of the programme will be as ‘FAIR’ as possible: findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable.
  • #10 The UNESCO Recommendation for Future International Collaboration in the field of Open Educational Resources (OER) has been recently adopted by 195 UNESCO member states at the November 2019 session of the UNESCO General Conference. This is a unique and important milestone offering a major opportunity to advance open education around the world.
